If we assume that Republicans are voting for McCain(R) then the conclusion you can draw from Gergen here is that it is the Democrats who are racist if they don’t vote for Obama.
Republicans voting for the R candidate are obviously racist because they simply won’t put Race ahead of Party Affiliation. What a distorted view of reality.
