The day America was born again

It doesn't matter who wins! Seriously, guys, America is about to become, once again, the coolest place on Earth.

An era is ending. If you still think the US is home to all that is fatty and unwholesome and militaristic and cloth-eared and generally low-grade, and not much else, it may be time to give the Yanks another chance. Nothing Sarah Palin and her followers can do will prevent America's steady movement away from social conservatism

Politically, socially, culturally, America is - as we watch transfixed and, in spite of ourselves, impressed - being born again.

Suddenly we are reminded of why 55 million people have chosen to come to America in the roughly 400 years since that journey became possible. We are reminded of why Americans are so deeply, annoyingly, attached to their nation and their system. We are reminded of how vibrant that system can be.

Yeah, Justin, the world’s a better place now that people can pull the feeding tube from a comatose woman. Only one thing, son - don’t ever get sick. Or weak. Or helpless. Because some simpering son of a bitch might just off you and smirk about it. Have a nice day.

LOLLOLLLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL...

Seriously, thanks. I needed that.

Some ‘very important people’ who all think alike, socialize together and write about it have no clue how hilarious they are.

Still lol. :-)

What a complete waste of time it was reading that article. Makes no sense at all.

By his "logic" we should be willing to accept a corrupt government just as long as it is "efficient." The people that wanted to save Terri Schiavo were doing it for moral and humanitarian reasons, not to make political points. If those judges were forced to stay with Terri and watch her slowly die for almost two weeks, I somehow think the result may have been different.

Sounds to me like Justin is licking toads in Central Park. He ‘s 70 years too late to stand on a streetcorner and scream “Seig heil!”

Flabbergasted ping -- from the original article:
America's political recrudescence did not begin in 2008...

To be precise; at one o'clock in the morning of March 21, 2005, President Bush put pen to paper and (inadvertently) consigned the politics of the Eighties to the trash.

He had been woken by his staff to sign emergency legislation designed to save the life of Terri Schiavo...

Somehow, folks like these think that economic prosperity is even possible without a socially conservative society.
