Battlegrounds: Florida, Pennsylvania breaking for McCain?

As if the Barack Obama needed any more bad news, the St. Petersburg Times and Zogby both deliver cause for pessimism at Team O. Florida polling shows that despite spending millions in advertising in the Sunshine State and a delay in advertising for McCain, Obama is in worse position that John Kerry at the same time in 2004. Zogby has new polling that shows Obama now trails in Pennsylvania, a must-hold state for the Democrats.

First, the Florida breakdown:

Barack Obama could be on the verge of falling out of contention in Florida.

Despite spending an estimated $8-million on campaign ads in America’s biggest battleground state and putting in place the largest Democratic campaign organization ever in Florida, Obama has lost ground over the summer. Florida has moved from a toss-up state to one that clearly leans toward John McCain, fueling speculation about how much longer the Democratic nominee will continue investing so heavily in the state. …

He is farther behind in the state than John Kerry was at this point in 2004, even though McCain began buying Florida TV ads only last week. By this time in 2004, the Bush-Cheney campaign had spent $13-million on Florida TV. In the rolling average of Florida polls compiled by the Web site RealClearPolitics.com, Obama has never taken the lead over McCain in Florida, and the latest average shows him behind by 5 percentage points. They were tied in early August.

Four Florida polls came out this week, with one showing a tied race, the others showing McCain leading by 5 to 8 percentage points.

I agree, I am not convinced on PA yet because this is Zogby and he has no credibiity with me, but this will insight panic and chaos in the left, so this poll still has its uses.

If McCain gets enough votes in Pennsylvania to overcome the 110% turnouts in Philadelphia, of eligible voters mind, I’ll be amazed. Those dead, disinterested, or imaginary voters don’t get polled often.

McCain-Palin could be headed for a 300-plus to 158-minus win!

We can't win DC. I'd like to win all the others.

The more the Corrupt Politicians and the Corrupt Operatives of the Corrupt Newsmedia reveal themselves for what they are, the more the American people recoil in disgust and resolve to vote for McCain and Palin.

Expect the Obama campaign to focus like a laser...”

They can focus, but they can’t change who Obama is. The differences were made known very well at the conventions and the Repubs had a record number of viewers. I think most people made up their minds during that time and are not likely to change. We just need a few ads about the Rev Wright and the Obama’s staying there for 20 yrs and we’ve got it nailed!

“Those dead, disinterested, or imaginary voters don’t get polled often.”

Well thats because the dead always “vote” for Democrats, so there is no need to go to Philadelphia area cemetaries and poll them. :)

Is Florida up for grabs?

Consider this:

0bama just spent two...2...dos...deux...zwei...days in...New Hampshire.

And...

Called off tonight's appearance on SNL, beaucoup...muy...mucho free libtard advertising time, to go home for the weekend.

Meanwhile back in the cabin of "Ole 44", Joe Biden is looking for a nice soft spot to jump before the trainwreck.

All those years in the Senate to be totally thrown away on a one month stand as the VP of the most self-destructive, vapid, insipid, picayune, tone-deaf, campaign the world has ever known.

Run by someone who's sum total of executive "experience" that qualifies him for President of the U.S. is in running that campaign.

Wonder if they are handing out the suicide pills over at the DUmp? They have to be besides themselves. I won’t, I like myself.

We need Todd in Michigan, Lieberman in southeast Florida. That’ll shore it up good.

I remember how QUICK the pubs jumped ship when Bob Dole was in this situation about now. It felt quite lonely. Zero better enjoy whatever popularity he has left in his party cause it’s all coming to an END soon!!

This thing isn't over until it's over. It's looking good right now, and we can have a moment of happiness, but I won't feel totally safe until at least noon on November 5.

There are fifty more days until this election and anything can happen. We can't let our guard down until it's really over.

Wish we could abandon San Fransicko and LA. Then maybe, we could make CA RED for McCain/Palin

I don’t think noon on November 5th will be late enough to wait ... if the Dems lose on the 4th they’ll try to steal it anyway. I won’t breath easy until Palin puts her hand on the Bible and is sworn in as Vice President of the United States. Until then, the Dems will do anything to steal this.
