Earlier today, Barack Obama’s campaign released an ad attacking John McCain for not knowing how to send an e-mail. Their crack research team apparently never heard of Google or Lexis-Nexis, but Jonah Goldberg does. He discovers why McCain doesn’t use a keyboard — his torturers made sure he couldn’t. The Boston Globe reported it eight years ago:
McCain gets emotional at the mention of military families needing food stamps or veterans lacking health care. The outrage comes from inside: McCain’s severe war injuries prevent him from combing his hair, typing on a keyboard, or tying his shoes. Friends marvel at McCain’s encyclopedic knowledge of sports. He’s an avid fan - Ted Williams is his hero - but he can’t raise his arm above his shoulder to throw a baseball.

Yeah, I’m not really seein’ the upside the obamanation seems to see in this line of attack.

From the video, it didn't look at all like a taunt, and Biden actually recovered pretty gracefully.
Incidentally, some wheelchair users are capable of standing, and even walking when supported; if someone in a wheelchair looked as though he might be able to stand, a speaker intending to toast him might do well to ask beforehand if he would like to be asked to do so.
First Biden asks a guy in a wheelchair to stand up; and now this. The democrats have no shame, no sense, and no respect.
In the real world where we live, this alone should knock Obama right off his feet.

But that is exactly the point of the ad. Obama is appealing to the hip, younger generation, trying to emphasize that McCain is an out of touch geezer. Other than the seniors in Florida who are still voting for FDR by pulling the D lever, Obama will not get the senior vote.

Well let’s see - Biden tries to make a man in a wheel chair stand up and then Barak makes fun of a handicapped man insinuating it is his age keeping him from it.
