Drudge has a photo up of Cindy McCain with a "bright pink" wrist cast.

Haven't heard of any recent accidents or wrist surgeries, hope she gets better.

Then again, she could use it to elbow Washington's "unbiased" reporters out of her way.

Someone shook her hand too hard at a campaign event and rehurt and old injury.

Someone overly enthused shook her hand really hard at a rally a week or two ago and hurt it. This is not news.

A report a few weeks ago that a enthusiatic supporter shook her hand so hard that it broke or cracked a bone in her wrist.

Cindy McCain was recently injured in a receiving line by an “overly enthusiastic” supporter who gripped her arm too hard.

I heard that while she was shaking hands someone pulled so hard that she damaged some ligaments or something like that....

Actually this is one of the best pictures I've seen of her. She looks like an awfully sweet and pretty lady here.

An “overly enthusiastic” supporter, eh?

A overenthusiastic supporter for which side? (Or should I not ask so cynically?)

She is a very attractive woman, though I hope she doesn’t wear that blue dress she wore for McCain’s VP announcement again. Yikes.

She hurt her wrist when she read the latest Democrat criticism of herself and smacked her hand against her forehead.

I chose a nice dark blue for my cast. Hot pink would have looked silly in the workplace (as would tangerine, lime green, purple...)

She has had carpal tunnel problems and I can tell you from personal experince that shaking hands is a killer with it especially if some idiot wants to do it too hard. I’d imagine that is what the brace is for because she’s been putting it on as soon as she is done shaking hands. If you get the chance to shake her hand ever please don’t do too much up and down or hard squeezing, it hurts when someone does that.

I loved that dress, very fashionable. What did you find wrong with it?

I loved the color, but the 6 (not sure what to call them) triangular folds things didn't work for me. I'm probably the only person who didn't like it, though. One thing is certain: Cindy McCain, like Laura Bush before her, will bring a lot of class to the White House.

The 6 folds are called “shark’s teeth” in quilting. They are a square that is folded twice in a triangular shape and then sewn down.

Re: shaking hands too hard.

A few years ago I was playing a gig with the band I was with near Columbus OH (I play bass guitar in a classic rock band), and after the show, a guy came up to tell us how much he enjoyed our show, grabbed my right hand and squeezed it so hard he dropped me to my knees, involuntarily. I thought he broke my hand. I have rheumatiod arthritis in both hands, so they're sensitive anyway, but this was insane. I yelled at him, asking him what ever possessed him to grip a guitar player's hand that hard. He was a little shocked, and stammered to apologize, but by then I was so mad, and in so much pain, all I could do was basically chew him out for being so stupid and thoughtless. I basically told him that he should NEVER shake a guitarist's hand like that, or squeeze that hard, because of the damage it could cause. I told him, "Do you realize you could end a guitarist's career with an handshake like that?" He just stood there, and the guitarist and the drummer in the band had to come over and explain to him what he had done wrong, and why I was in so much pain, and obviously in a bad mood.

Because of that, I'm reluctant to shake hands with anyone. If I have to, the moment I feel it going into a vice grip, I pull my hand back, hard and fast. I'm thinking of learning how to take out someone's knee if something like that happens again, to even the score.
