Exactly.

And for how many years had Georgia ignored UN resolutions, a cease fire agreement, and being pushed out of a neighbor they illegallly invaded?

Russia was ready BEFORE the Georgians fired a single round into South Ossetia.

Comparing this to Iraq or Afghansitan is laughable.

Usually you and I agree pretty much but last night I thought that we saw the real McCain come out and start blasting and poor Barry is just a shell of the Messiah he thought he was this morning!!

Try as they might the DBM will not be able to spin their huge loss into victory.

On other threads this morning I have already taken a shot at what the frantic talking points by the DNC must have been last night as they panic stricken tried to salvage their Manchurian candidate.

They might have gone something like this:

1. Admit there was a debate.

2. Keep all responses short(NYslimes LAslimes WApost did rather short reviews) our guy lost big but don't belabor the point.

3.Change the topic whenever and never admit defeat, change topic at all costs.

C-spam obviously got the chatting points as they spammed for oblama big time but it won't help he lost big time last night. It was rather hilarious this morning as about half of the callers were obviously black, gee what a coincidence.

One of the defining moments, and there were many--drill now and oftern) in last night's debate was when McCain told of how his wife adopted their 17 year old daughter who was not expected to live.

When he said the words of his wife "come home so you can meet your new daughter" if a tear didn't touch your cheek you were not listening very carefully. At that point you knew you were backing truly great Americans and it made you proud as hell.

It was truly a defining moment and right then and there you could just see a million dems all running for the closet and locking the door, never to come out until after Nov. when the slaughter was over.

Uh oh, folks. Listening to Condi on MTP with a very belligerent David Gregory.

It sounds like we are going to let S. Ossetia and Abkahzia go to the Russians. I hope I misheard this.

It is the only way for ABDNC to blame Bush even if the comparison is rediculous. BTW, there were WMDs.

Barry and stretch need to buy blackboards and learn to write 1,000 times each:

I am not a geologist and I don not play one on TV

, Maybe it will drive home just how blatantly stupid they both are.

What is the objection? It would cost too much?

%%%%%%

The baby was taken from the uterus as an act of abortion, not birth; but ‘it’ had the temerity to breathe! What’s a doctor or nurse to do? What they had been doing was putting ‘the products of abortion’ in a basin in the utility room until respirations ceased.

There are also documented eyewitness accounts of babies being smothered if they happened to breathe after an abortion-induced birth.

IMO, Collingsworth lobbed one for Bryant to hit out of the park. He SAID, “Tell us the story when you got your U.S.A. uniform.” He did NOT ASK, “How did you feel when you got your U.S.A. uniform?” That tells me that Collingsworth already knew Bryant's reaction. Collingsworth then proceeded to draw out more from Bryant. Of course with all the cuts back and forth, we will never know for certain exactly how the interview went. However, with the edited version that was presented, I don't think Collingsworth was being snarky or anti American at all. He was giving Bryant a platform to say his piece.

If last night was an indication, they are going to spin it as Obama was qualified to be on the same stage as Mccain and “they both came on strong”.

Yesterday was Obama’s Dukakis moment.

(which is about the debate not the tank when Bernard Shaw asked Dukakis, “Governor, if Kitty Dukakis were raped and murdered, would you favor an irrevocable death penalty for the killer?” )

Sadly, ever since LBJ thought up this tactic, many have run for President/Vice President and kept their seats in the Senate just in case. Think Muskie, Dole (in 76), Bentsen, Lieberman, Kerry. LBJ was lucky that Major Daley was able to fake enough votes for Kennedy to win Illinois. But he would have continued his senate seat had the election failed.

Slow Joe will not go, you know.

You and I still agree. I am giving Obama his due in that he did better than he has in the past with fewer ahhh’s and less stammering in between thoughts. It was kind of obvious that Obama was trying really hard to not show his true positions in numerous issues, and still pander to this organization. In other words, Obama stretched the the lies and hid the truth as much as he could.

McCain came across as much better and destroyed Obama, in my opinion.

I did not see just one defining moment where McCain was better than Obama. There were too many to choose just one. On every issue and point of view, McCain was better than Obama. In fact, I would go so far as to say last night was the best performance I have ever seen from McCain.

I understand it was a botched abortion.

I don’t understand why a legislator would vote AGAINST a law requiring lifesaving efforts to an aborted baby being born alive.

In other words why would a legislator vote against saving a baby’s life under such circumstances? Because say what you will, I believe there are few Americans who would be against saving those unfortunates’ infant lives. Thus a legislator voting against cannot possibly be doing so for the will of the voters?

Or maybe I’m being too pollyannish, maybe there’s a large subset of people out there who think it’s okay to smother living, breathing babies.

I agree with your analysis... Obama did look and sound better than at other times, that I’ll give him. However, as you said, McCain blew him out of the water.

Watching FOX - Sen. McCaskill has the gall to speak about supporting the President and the Secretary of State? After the last 8 years of BDS are they finally realizing that it’s hurting the country?

She’s saying that McCain was presumptuous in his statements on Russia. She is saying that McCain worked against the President and Rice by putting forth his press releases.

Thanks AB for the concern, great of you.!

IMHO we need to see what happens to Fay when it hits the mountains of Cuba. Sometimes that can slow them down, it will probably be the last minute to find out about this one.

Anyone interested in tropical info can contact nauti nurse who provides the best up to date hurricane info anywhere and she does it right here on FR. Nothing better available.

One thing we do know is that the Gulfstream is plenty hot for it to regenerate.

It is so unfortunate that I tuned it to Meet the Press and David Gregory is on this week. BP rapidly rising.

Condi didn’t let him get her flustered, which was good.

Gregory just asked Keane if Obama had been wasting time in his campaign.
