Not everyone can home-school their children. A more conservative-oriented Christian private school might be the answer.
On the other hand, if you like everything else about the Catholic school except their stand on one or two issues, then I would recommend teaching your child what you want her to know about the “global climate crisis” (and other issues) at home, and explaining to her that she might hear different things at school about this but that on THIS issue you and your wife are correct and the school is not.
There are diplomatic ways to tell your child that someone else is full of sh!t on a given issue without coming right out and saying it, and children ARE capable of understanding this. Besides, she’s gotta find out sooner or later.
If the school is intellectually honest, perhaps they will even let you prepare and present to her class a short program giving the the other side of the issue.
WayneS, while I agree with you to a point, I think you’re forgetting something. The child will be encouraged to mouth the thoughts of the teacher on this. The other children will mostly agree with the teacher these days.
Once peer pressure gains hold, the child will be forced to adopt the party line. This serves to undermine parental authority. The child from that moment on will doubt anything the parents says as being truthful.
I wouldn’t put my kid in this type of situation if at all possible. It’s terribly destructive.
