While it irks me to no end that they believe and teach this fraud I’m convinced that the GW crowd will silently disappear as more and more of their arguments fall apart.
Truth will win in the long run and one big lie exposed will kill their movement in the end. I’d not confuse the child at this point but explain that there are two sides and that her teacher appears to be teaching one side. I’d explain that if she is interested you’ll be happy to present the other side so that she can better understand the issue. I wouldn’t force the issue unless the the indoctrination becomes outrageous and then I’d go to the teacher and start the official protest and confrontation routine with the school, the school board and perhaps legal help.
I want to applaud you for supplying a flame for the moths.
Innocent threads like these not only get you lots of good advice, but since they include the trigger-word “Catholic,” the anti-Catholic bigots out themselves with stunning predictability.
taunting is what I do best. Now if only I could find a way to have it pay me . . .
Not the Bible, which contains no book named “revelations.” You made that up, like you made up half that last comment.
So I’m back to Matthew 7:6, and there I’ll stay. But seriously, if you ever truly want to talk like an adult about truth, the Gospel, God’s will, look me up. Offer stands.
revelation. fine.
And I will execute great vengeance upon them with furious rebukes; and they shall know that I am the LORD, when I shall lay my vengeance upon them.
Precisely the problem
I don't see that as a problem. My kids learned more in K than I learned in 1st when I was a kid. To me, K was a dreadful bore ... more like preschool. My 1st kid was at a 2nd grade reading level going into 1st and my 2nd kid is not far from that going into 1st this fall.
“BG&R, this is just a general, in theory statement- In addition to my previous comment, if this actually is about Global Warming, and if your daughter where older, I wouldn’t be so quick as to ‘isolate’ her from this opposition as some suggest. In the real world, she is going to face opposition to her beliefs, and if you isolate her from those who disagree or challenge her, you are not strengthening her beliefs and teaching her how to defend her beliefs. Isolation could make her more vulnerable to falling for anything because she doesn’t learn to defend using reasoning.”
Well said. Those folks saying “homeschool” or “send her to Public School” (yikes! they get that cr*p in spades!) are really missing the point entirely.
As conservatives, we need to stop wimping out and running away from a fight, we need to stand up for what we believe in. A Catholic school is no place for environmentalist rubbish and we should say it loud and clear!
Your daughter will get a much better education at a Catholic school. Speak to the Principal and find out if global warming is part of the official school curriculum.
Let them know you do not agree with it and will have to spend time ‘reeducating’ your child at home. She would be taught this and worse at public schools in all probability.
I am glad my children are grown. It sounds like parents are going to have to teach their children to have thicker skins so they won’t be easily intimidated nowadays. Disagreement can be expressed in a respectful manner.
