From the Capella Nuova at the Cathedral of Orvieto in Umbria. This particular fresco is entitled the “Antichrist” and sets off the entire set of frescoes which have been named “The Final Judgment”. This is a late 15th century commission by the Commune of Orvieto partially painted (ceiling) by Fra Angelico, a Dominican friar and finished later with the lower frescoes by Lucca Signorelli. It is an amazing piece of work that was the model for the frescoes by Michelangelo in the Cistina Capella. For more looks at images from a recent trip go to http://web.mac.com/johniegrad/iWeb/Site/Montefalco.html
and click on the links to Orvieto or any other links you might like to look at.
