The Debate McCain Must Force
http://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2008/06/obamas_new_strategy.html ^ | June 25, '08 | Dick Morris

Have you noticed a change in Obama's campaign? Instead of avoiding controversies over values, religion and race, he seems to welcome them. Why? Quite simply, Obama would rather address his religious views and his embrace of diversity than talk about his plans to raise taxes, let gasoline prices soar and socialize healthcare. Consider his proposals: *He would legislate a 60 percent tax bracket for upper-income Americans, killing all initiative and innovation. He'd raise the top bracket to 40 percent. He'd apply FICA taxes to all income, not just that under $100,000 as at present. So add 40 percent plus FICA's 12.5 percent plus Medicare's 2 percent plus state and local taxes averaging, after deduction, at 5-6 percent, and you have a 60 percent bracket. *He would double the capital gains tax, saddling the 50 percent of Americans who own stock with dramatically higher taxes. *He'd double the dividend tax, hitting elderly coupon-clippers now retired and depending on fixed income. *HE WANTS TO COVER 12 MILLION ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS WITH FEDERALLY SUBSIDIZED HEALTH INSURANCE, dramatically driving up costs and forcing federal rationing of healthcare. *He proposes requiring Homeland Security operatives to notify terror suspects that they are under investigation. *He says that unless they can establish "probable cause to believe a certain individual is linked to a specific terrorist group," Homeland Security cannot seize his documents or search his business. The current standard is only the search be "relevant" to a terror investigation. *He does not oppose $5-per-gallon gasoline but only says he wishes there had been a more "gradual adjustment."

Morris concludes with this: "Obama can talk about the Rev. Wright and flag lapel pins and his wife's love of America all day long. But what he resists is a specific discussion of his own plans for our country. That's the discussion he fears and avoids. And it's the discussion John McCain must force on him if he is to have any realistic chance of winning the election."

Most of Obama’s views are based on Communism and a Socialist America. I still can’t believe that 50% of our people can’t see this.

On last night's Factor, Dick said that right now either candidate could turn the polls around and gain a 10-point lead which would last all the way to the election. But then that's one of Dick's predictions. ;)

Darn, I am beginning to hate to repeat myself, but it has got to sink in. 2/3 of Americans are brain dead. There are more than 50% liberal nitwits called Democrats in this Country. The rest are just anti-McCain haters. Getting the honest facts out will almost be impossible since most of the MSM are rotten to the core.

The key is how to wake up people to the bottom line: Obama is a Marxist who is an enemy to people’s freedom and prosperity. It has to be presented on a ‘personal’ level where people see how they will be affected personally. But that might be impossible to do. People are so indoctrinated and ignorant.

He is exactly right. I cannot believe how lame McCain is. The people running his campaign need to grab him by the lapels like he was a Sandinista and tell him how it is going to be. It he puts up a fight they need to jab a syringe filled with Thorazine right through his Dockers.

In case there are Secret Service people lurking, please let me stress that this is a rhetorical suggestion to imply that I think McCain is crazy.

Make the race about $5 a gallon gas and then folks will come to an understanding. That is if we can get McCain to get on board Newt's Drill Here, Drill Now movement.

Let’s hope the new campaign leader, nicknamed “Sergeant Schmidt,” is quick to change the tone and course. I am praying day and night.

One way to accomplish this is to wake up McCain. He’s got to quit sounding like he’s a little ole grandfather. I’ve heard that he has a hell of a temper. If so, bring it out and do it now. Bring out the fact that Obama is as close to a Communist as a person can get. He wants a nicey, nicey campaign..........ain’t going to happen if he wants to win. McCain has to start acting like a Commander in Chief to the general public. If he acted like General Patton, he might win this thing and bring this country back to where it belongs.

Fifty percent of the people pay less than 4% of the taxes. Many of these people are licking their lips at the thought of more “free” goodies at the expense of the “evil rich.”

And I don’t know what the hell is wrong with the “evil rich” who are supporting Obama.

The honest fact is that McCain is in Mexico City today hanging out with his real constituents.

The honest fact is that it's gonna take a helluva lot of illegal Mexican votes to elect Juan McCain in November.

Just ask a Lib how a single mother is supposed to afford those gas prices, Then, ask if Democrats are really for the “little people”. Throw it in their faces using their own terminoloigy and language.

Today I saw a “McCain = Bush Third Term” bumper sticker on a Lawn Maintenance truck. I asked the guy if he was voting Obama and he said yes and I said “Are you a Marxist, too”. Before he could answer, I told him to look up the word Marxist. It is unbelievable and disgusting.

\You are exactly right. McCain needs to realize that the same kind of people who tortured and abused him are alive and well in the US today. They are called Democrats and would resort to those very things if they could get away with it. Hitlery, for example, if she had the power and could get away with it, would make Stalin look like a Boy Scout.
