Hey, it may be that if the Bureau of Land Management allows strip mining for usless fossils then they may allow the drilling for useful oil. After all, the oil is claimed to simply be liquid fossils.

The libs-enviros are all over the place out there looking for fossils in each and every nook and cranny they can find. The whole area will be banned for oil exploration to prevent the destruction of extinct dinosaurs.
