Great news! Does this put the issue to rest? I would expect a "wrongful death" civil suit funded by Quannel X.

Most of what Quanell X does and represents I have no use for but once in a blue moon he does do something of value. Just last week the police got him involved with a situation where he got the suspect to lead them to the bodies of two children ages 3 and 9 or so that this guy murdered and disposed of the bodies which the police couldn’t find.

Can the prosecutor in this case shop the case around like the DA (Earle?) in the Tom DeLay prosecution did? Or will this be the end of it? Of course, Mr. Horn isn’t quite the political plum DeLay was, so the prosecutor might just drop it.

Good for Joe Horn!
Quanell 10 will erase the good he did last week with his childishness over this verdict. It’ll be bidnez as usual for him now.

I doubt they'll wait for sundown. Gotta get the protest out in time for the evening news.

Under castle doctrine law, he *can’t* be sued.

Aside from the shooting itself, the national debate revolved around the fact that Ortiz and Torres were illegal immigrants from Colombia. Torres had been sent to prison for dealing cocaine and was deported in 1999. This was the LAST paragraph in the story.

He testified to the GJ? His lawyer said that he would testify, and the article confirms that he did.

This is the end of it - the jury no-billed him on both charges.
The DA would have to come up with new charges, such as “discharging a firearm within city limits” or “littering”.
Either way, Mr. Horn can never be charged with this particular offence for this incident ever again.

The very last paragraph in the article says -
Aside from the shooting itself, the national debate revolved around the fact that Ortiz and Torres were illegal immigrants from Colombia. Torres had been sent to prison for dealing cocaine and was deported in 1999.
This should have been the FIRST paragraph so I could have just skipped everything after it. Good riddance to these two! I'm happy that Mr. Horn has been cleared.

The kids were 3 and 7. The A/C lied to QX the first two locations that were searched.
OTOH, QX said the reason he went to talk to the brother is b/c he thought the brother was being railroaded by the white Pasadena Police Department.

In Texas, the charging decision in felony cases is made by a jury (grand jury), and not by the prosecutor.Any DA that can't control a grand jury needs to find a new line of work.
