A Thursday afternoon meeting between Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., and other members of the Congressional Black Caucus grew tense and emotional for a moment -- perhaps illustrating that weeks after Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., suspended her presidential campaign, some nerves remain frayed.
Sources at the meeting said that Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, D-Texas, a Clinton supporter, expressed the desire that Obama and his campaign would reach out the millions of women still aggrieved about what happened in the campaign and still disappointed that Clinton lost.
Obama then said, "However, I need to make a decision in the next few months as to how I manage that since I'm running against John McCain, which takes a lot of time. If women take a moment to realize that on every issue important to women, John McCain is not in their corner, that would help them get over it."
Rep. Diane Watson, D-Calif., a longtime Clinton supporter, did not like those last three words -- "Get over it." She found them dismissive, off-putting.
"Don't use that terminology," Watson told Obama.

oh, meow!
just a meat market
Name me one significant thing that has come out of black congressional caucus weekend. It’s homecoming. It’s just a nonstop party, all the booze you want, all the booty you want. That’s all it is.
’ And here he is with this altruistic agenda, trying to get some support. He comes back shattered. I thought to myself, ‘Does he have a rude awakening coming his way.’”

Obama does not want Clinton, but they are going to make him take her. Shotgun marriage.
"Get over it, Sweetie."
similar to : Put some ice on it ?
The aggregate relationship between black women and black men is . . . complicated. If Obambi didn’t know this, he’s about to find out.
"He had gone down there to get support and find out who would support him and found it was just a meat market," the pastor said in an interview, breaking into a laugh. "He had people say, 'if you want to count on me, come on to my room. I don't care if you're married. I'm not asking you to leave your wife - just come on.' All the women hitting on him. He was, like, in shock. He's there on a serious agenda, talking about running for the United States Senate. They're talking about giving [him] some [a p-word I'm pretty sure I can't print on NRO, but you get the idea that it is a synonym for cat]. And I was like, 'Barack, c'mon, man. Come on! Name me one significant thing that has come out of black congressional caucus weekend. It's homecoming. It's just a nonstop party, all the booze you want, all the booty you want. That's all it is.' And here he is with this altruistic agenda, trying to get some support. He comes back shattered. I thought to myself, 'Does he have a rude awakening coming his way.' - Jeremiah Wright"
Women and minorities in the DemocRATik Party don’t care about this. They are used to being used as doormats by the party’s elite. Anything for the party. It’s not just a coincidence that the party’s mascot is the jackass.
A diss your sister moment. His dismissive treatment of women in general, wonder where that comes from? This wanabee brother is about as real as Nancy Pelosi’s face./Just Asking - seoul62........
A little foreshadowing of the DNC Convention perhaps;)
OH MY GOD. Booze and booty is the reason for this conference?????
Hillary wants Barry to choose her as VP and pay off her campaign debt. If he doesn’t, then Barry will be double teamed by Hillary and McCain as he effectively was in most of the primaries after Super Tuesday.
LOL!
Sometimes I think that Obama could have been a useful champion of conservatism, had only he been exposed at ANY TIME during his formative years to those principles. Though he is clearly a product of the Chicago machine, I sometimes believe he really did start this journey idealistically (though that itself seems more left-leaning, perhaps.)
The only hope we have is that he isn’t as Marxist as he seems (if he’s elected) and really does buy into his “hope,” “change” and “UNITED States of America” rhetoric. (which we don’t but oh well.)
“The only hope we have is that he isnt as Marxist as he seems”
IF he wins, he’s going to be another Poll-Chaser President.
After the FISA loss, Even DEMOCRATS are coming to grips with what those 100+ “Present” votes in Illinois really meant.
An’ don’ call me golliwog no mo’.
