MCCAIN GETS IT ... ALMOST ... SOMETIMES ... ONCE IN A WHILE
NELZ NUZE ^ | JUNE 11, 2008 | NEAL BOORTZ

When it comes to John McCain, he has some good ideas and then he has some not so good ideas. His stance on earmark spending, for example. Now there's a good idea. But then he panders to the global warming crowd. That is the John McCain that frustrates me and a lot of conservatives.

When it comes to taxes, McCain doesn't seem to be any different. Here are some of his better ideas: -Extending the Bush tax cuts

-Lowering the corporate tax rate

-Maintaining a low capital gains tax

-Phasing out the alternative minimum tax (which will save 25 million families up to $2,000 a year)

But then he goes on to say things like this, "Americans are right to be offended when the extravagant salaries and severance deals of CEOs ... bear no relation to the success of the company or the wishes of shareholders."

There he goes playing with wealth envy rhetoric. He says that as president he will see that this "wrongdoing" is called to account by the government. And the government will require that "all aspects of a CEO's pay, including any severance arrangements, must be approved by shareholders." Hey, McCain. The stockholders are already running the show. They elect the board of directors.

Butt out. We don't need a "conservative" presidential candidate who wants the government to tell private businesses how they must operate.

That is the John McCain I'm afraid of.

Well, if helping to put BamBam in the White House makes yo9u sleep better, have at it. I hope you sleep as well after he loses another war for us, and drags the country into a depression that will make the one back in the 1930s look like a Sunday School picnic.

...and you have my permission to vote for Captain Amnesty. He wants open borders, only semi-conservative judges, and nearly became a Democrat twice.

He says the right things about the war, the wrong things on many other issues.

If that’s enough for you...fine, it’s not enough for me.

With the opposition he has it may be impossible to throw the election. McCain may be the luckiest politician alive. First he gets the nomination by default and then he gets this clown for an opponent.
