Kilpatrick and former top aide Christine Beatty face perjury and other charges stemming from testimony given during a whistle-blowers' trial. In fairness to the mayor, I have it on the best authority that perjury is not even a crime because everybody does it, and that even if it was a crime, it would not rise to the level of impeachment. Bill Clinton and his innumerable fans said so, and every Democrat alive believed it in 1998.

(wondering what does rise to the level of impeachment if subverting the law does not)
