April 13, 2008
BARTOW, Fla. (AP) - Employees of the "Dr. Phil" television show posted bail for a central Florida teenager jailed for taking part in a videotaped beating of another teen, a spokeswoman for the show's host confirmed Saturday.

Dr Phil is rapidly becoming a royal PITA.He didn’t learn anything from his Brittany Spears fiasco.
Can’t this publicity mutt mind his own business?
His 15 minutes must be up pretty soon, right?
It looks like the essential element on this story is that it was an ERROR.
That little fact should be reported as well, so that the reader will fully understand the context.
So when’s the little snot going to be on his TV show?
The only error the staff made was agreeing to pay the bail before the judge issued a gag order. Now Dr. Phil can’t have Mercades Nichols on the show or else the gag order be violated.
He’s such an attention whore.
She's not--check out post number 6. The whole story has not been posted yet---doesn't fit FReeper agenda.
Right---they should have known before the gag order was issued that the gag order was going to be issued.
Nothing like biased logic.
Why are you flacking so hard for Dr. Phil? The fact that he or his staff was anywhere near this, in addition to his absurd antics at Britey’s hospital, shows clearly what he’s about. If he wasn’t in the same class as Jerry Springer, there would have been no “error” to make here.
"As always, should you, or any of your Annoying Mission Force, be caught, killed or publicly exposed as idiots, the Doctor will disavow any knowledge of the matter. This tape will self-destruct in five seconds."
Not for that schmuck, but for intellectual honesty. None of the posts here at FR on this topic gave the whole story, I got curious as to why not. I found out that there is another side to it which should be read---if, of course, one desires accuracy.
He shows up, and demands his own dressing room with private bathroom. Apparently, her charity is rare in that it does try to control expenses, so she informes Dr. Phil that his requirements weren't going to be able to be met.
He threatens to leave, and she politely dismisses him out of the program.
