It felt like it was above 100o today but the official high was 99o, we will spend 2 to 3 weeks in the 110o range. About 1/2 of the electricity bill for the year is in July Aug and Sept for my church.

When I moved to Texas after college I bought a used car made for the Canadian market. It had to be cheep because I didn't have a job yet and the car I had caught fire a brunt on my way to a job interview in North Dallas. It was a 65 Dodge Dart body but it was sold as a Valiant in Canada with no a/c as an option.

Did it have a plug-in oil-pan heater? Just the thing you'd need in Texas... *\;-)

Yes it did but I never used it even though the winter that I drove it was the coldest on record for Fort Worth. The Fort Worth newspaper had a picture of a model A on a frozen over Lake Worth. It was under 32o for two weeks. This was the same year it snowed In New Orleans. It was over twenty years old used a quart of oil every other fill up but it never failed to start in the cold unlike some of the newer cars.

I survived our final performance! Woo hoo! I didn't get heat stoke or knock my oboe over!

Saber Dance was a train wreck, but it could have been worse. At least when it started to fall apart everyone stopped playing and listened, instead of charging ahead as individuals. We were able to pick it back up.

When we finished, our conductor smiled and said, "well, at least we all finished at the same time." He's a jewel.

Ah, like when my church choir did the "Hallelujah Chorus," in 18-part harmony.

Morning.
My brain is still asleep, I think. It wants me to go back to bed. *yawn*

Good Morning!

I would love to go back to bed...I would get in trouble though.

I won’t but I’d still feel like I wasted time. It’s terrible to have Catholic Guilt when I’m no longer a Catholic.... *sigh*

Two cups of most excellently brewed coffee and a shower later, and I’m ready to head out to the cow patties.

LOL!

I’ve had some cocoa, but I still want to curl up in my chair.

Maybe I will, after a while.

Put it in an envelope and mail it to the Diocesan offices :-).

Anyway, guilt is non-denominational ... we all just get it from our mothers.

LOL!

Yeppper...I think you’re right! (My mother was a Catholic to her dying day. She LOVED using guilt to make me do what she wanted. I don’t think it worked on my sibs, though....)

:o|

Been in the office for an hour and a half, and still dragging.

But I saw LoM had printed and stuffed envelopes with my letters last night, so later this week hopefully that bill will start to be derailed.

I’ll say some prayers that your letters will have the desired effect on the right people. It’s the best I can do. The country needs all the help it can get.

Some days, I reflect on where we might be, had the Internet not become available to everyone. The Mushroom Complex coupled with Big Brother is a scary concept.

Good work!

It’s scary, what’s going on in D.C.

“Work like everything is up to you, and pray like everything is up to God.”

I’ll use that as my tagline, soon. Maybe I’ll keep it longer than a week. ;o]
