SAN ANGELO, Texas — Teenage girls, often younger than 16, were required to have sex in the soaring white temple after they were married in sect-recognized unions at a polygamist compound in West Texas, according to court documents unsealed Wednesday.
The temple "contains an area where there is a bed where males over the age of 17 engage in sexual activity with female children under the age of 17," said an affidavit quoting a confidential informant who left the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

If that was factual and documented, then I would have to support her side of the story.
That would be wrong, no matter what marital status or age of the woman.
I was thinking about that the other day when I heard that lady speak about how her children were hurt to get her to comply. I can’t judge because I’m not in her shoes but me knowing me, the fight would have been on.

Of course that isn’t much of a surprise given the fact that this is a church that regularly held the wedding ceremonies not in their church in front of the congregation, but in a small hotel room rented solely for the ceremony, with only a couple of witnesses. I was actually quite surprised to hear they were conducting the ceremonies in the temple after moving to Texas.

Someday, if you are not Gay or Lesbian, you could be arrested for violation of marriage the laws! Legally, any sex between a male and female could be classified as rape.

If you read further in the article, you would see that consummation was not assumed to immediately follow these early teen marriages. Note also that these 12-13 year old girls were generally married to 15-16 year old boys, not 50 years olds.

I didn’t pay much more than a curious notice until I saw that it was on fire. Horror. Regardless of the outcome I’m glad this happened without harm. It could have ended differently, even in the best of circumstances if they had decided to lock themselves in and die fighting though.

This is a double edge sword but it is very clear what happen here were women and children were being held against their will.
