Presidential candidate Sen. John McCain was interviewed tonight by Greta van Susteren for her Fox News Channel show, "On The Record". She asked him what he can do, short-term and long-term, about rising gasoline prices. There's not much that can be done short-term, he said, because we're too dependent on foreign oil. But we can, in the not-too-long-term, develop hybrid cars, and develop a battery that will take a car 100 miles. "We can reemphasize and dramatically increase nuclear power", he added. "We can do so many things in alternate energy to eliminate our dependence on foreign oil."
COMMENT: Nuclear.com is delighted that nuclear power is held in such high regard by the presumptive nominee of the Republicans. Maybe there is hope for McCain yet.
A vote for Ambassador Alan Keyes is a vote for Senator Barack Hussein Obama, no matter how you slice it.
Keyes couldn’t beat Obama in Illinois, so I doubt he can beat him and McCain in the GE.

Besides, since blacks since to in vogue of late :) we also have our "own" blacks, and Alen is a good one!
It is sad that good core politicians like Alan or Duncan get ignored in favor of charlatans and snake oil salesmen to a degree... AND by their own people! - the so called 'conservatives.' - very perplexing to me ?????? :)

Oil is used to generate a tiny fraction of our power - and most all of that is heavy oil or coke.

Nuke power replaces coal. Nothing to do with oil based transportation....
And the one thing the US has an abundance of is (wait for it) COAL.

I would vote for Alan Keyes.. Heck I would vote for Eddie Murphy if he was not a democrat.. But I will not vote for John McLaim..
Given that I understand supply and demand, I hope, if he does something, it is on the supply side. I don't want the government artificially decreasing the demand side. They ALWAYS demand that we use less while they use all they want.
McCain has stated that things can be done to replace our dependence on oil. Now what kinds of action is McCain going to do to get it done? Do nothing country club back stabber Republican.

Alternate energy? We don't need no steenking alternate energy! Oil is cheap and plentiful, and nothing cheaper will ever replace it.
McClown says nothing about drilling in ANWAR or off our coasts, or maybe building refineries so we don't have to import the refined product.
Well I did say ‘maybe’. Just a small glimmer of hope that McCain is not in complete lockstep with the liberal doctrine.
If Senator McCain feels the need to select a black running mate, it’l be someone like J.C. Watts or Michael Steele. I foresee Secretary Rice perhaps as another option.
