In regards to your US/Titanic likening....don’t forget about the media taking the role of the band...happily playing a tune as if nothing disastrous is going on.
It also reminds me of this scenario:
Lovely classical music being played at the death camps while Jews were being gassed to death.
I like the image of the Titanic musicians better - at least those musicians were trying to affirm “Life” in the midst of chaos and impending doom. I don’t think that’s what the Nazis were affirming.
I am trying not to read between the lines of all the reports (and avoiding “mainstream” media, opting for more “obscure” sources that are probably far more accurate).
However, it’s impossible not to be deeply concerned especially if you have any accurate knowledge of history whatsoever.
