GALVESTON, Texas (AP) -- The father sentenced to 25 years in prison for severely burning his 2-month-old daughter in a microwave is declining to give up his parental rights. "He loves his baby," Sam Cammack III, the attorney for Joshua Mauldin, said in a story in Thursday's online edition of the Houston Chronicle. "He wants to be part of Ana's life."

I didn’t realize that the baby survived. The mother has relinquished her rights, but would she have done that if she knew the father might want the custody?

Put that SOB in a microwave.
That too nice. What NEEDS to this guy happen is use lye to burn his skin off then throw him in a tub of isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol, followed by a cremation.
I know that sounds harsh, but I just hate it when people abuse children. there is a special place in hell for people who do that.

No one has mentioned this specifically, but this baby will be tied to this man for life. No possibility of adoption and settling in with a new family.
That's not as bad as putting the baby in the microwave, but it's adding insult to injury.

In a situation like this, I cannot even imagine that the state would ask or need his permission to terminate his parental rights. At some point children have to be protected from their sick parents.

He loves his baby?
Obviously.
Coat him with honey.
Stake him near a red ant nest.
The red ants would love to show their love for him.

Father who burned baby in microwave wants to keep parental rights
,,,, yeah and the baby didn't want to be microwaved, so what the father wants shouldn't even matter.
