Obama's Pastor: God Damn America, U.S. to Blame for 9/11 Obama's Pastor, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Has a History of What Even Obama's Campaign Aides Say Is 'Inflammatory Rhetoric' By BRIAN ROSS and REHAB EL-BURI

March 13, 2008—

Sen. Barack Obama's pastor says blacks should not sing "God Bless America" but "God damn America."

The Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Obama's pastor for the last 20 years at the Trinity United Church of Christ on Chicago's south side, has a long history of what even Obama's campaign aides concede is "inflammatory rhetoric," including the assertion that the United States brought on the 9/11 attacks with its own "terrorism."

In a campaign appearance earlier this month, Sen. Obama said, "I don't think my church is actually particularly controversial." He said Rev. Wright "is like an old uncle who says things I don't always agree with," telling a Jewish group that everyone has someone like that in their family.

Rev. Wright married Obama and his wife Michelle, baptized their two daughters and is credited by Obama for the title of his book, "The Audacity of Hope."

An ABC News review of dozens of Rev. Wright's sermons, offered for sale by the church, found repeated denunciations of the U.S. based on what he described as his reading of the Gospels and the treatment of black Americans.

"The government gives them the drugs, builds bigger prisons, passes a three-strike law and then wants us to sing 'God Bless America.' No, no, no, God damn America, that's in the Bible for killing innocent people," he said in a 2003 sermon. "God damn America for treating our citizens as less than human. God damn America for as long as she acts like she is God and she is supreme."

I believe that most people would leave a church if they don’t agree with the Pastor’s teachings. Taking into consideration Mr. Obama’s wife’s recent comments about not being proud of her country and the fact that they have attended this church for 20 years tells me that they do approve of this Pastor and his teachings.

"..including the assertion that the United States brought on the 9/11 attacks with its own "terrorism."

No WAAY!

He didn't really say this, did he?

No doubt some "kook" planted that idea with him.

but providing this info gets out there for all to see. having a pastor who hates and whites and America is going to be a big negative with most white Americans.

Take a look at the rasmussen poll issued today. Obama has a "white problem" inside the Democratic party:

RASMUSSEN at 11:00 AM:

Likely Dem Voters Nationwide

Black: Obama 81% Clinton 7%
White: Clinton 50% Obama 39%

I think he's going to have a huge issue if he wins the nomination.

"..who told me that all terrorism—especially 9/11—is merely a tool of the government to obtain power."

Now you guys are just making that up.

He didn't really say that, did he?

I filled out the web form on Obama's website to ask a question. I pointed out that I was not an Obama voter, but I am concerned that Obama's Muslim birth and upbringing might cause problems in the Muslim world if he is elected. I also expressed concerns about Jeremiah Wright and his crazy, anti-American conspiracy theories. Here is what I received in return:

Dear David,

Thank you for contacting Obama for America. The volume of messages we're receiving has gone up since Barack's victory in Iowa. While we cannot respond individually to over a thousand messages per day, the level of interest and thoughtfulness of the comments reflected in these communications are very gratifying. Your thoughts on our campaign and America's future are greatly appreciated.

Individual citizens like you are the foundation of this campaign.

If you're writing because you want change, we need you to help us fight for it. Please sign up here to volunteer:

And if you're not sure you want to get involved, and are writing to express a concern or disagreement, we appreciate that as well. The open discussion we want to facilitate cannot take place without hearing from people expressing a wide range of views.

Thank you again for writing.

Well, that’s pretty much the sort of response I’d expect from Obama’s organization. Completely vapid.

"We totally condemn [Fred Phelps and his]Westboro Baptist Church for their ranting and hate filled speech. Will this pastor and his message of hate get the same reaction? I will bet they get a pass from the media for obvious reasons.

Algore and the media didn't condemn Fred Phelps as long as he made his contributions (love offerings) to the correct political party:

Here's DemocRAT Fred "God hates fags" Phelps with Al & Tipper Gore at a fundraiser:

Maybe it was his buddy Farrakhan. Seriously, they are friends and Louis was featured on the cover of last month’s Trumpet mag, put out by Trinity UCC and editored by Wright’s daughter.

It will be FUn to see the DUmmies defend the Rev. Wright and his parishioner.

They do it all the time -- haven't you noticed?

That’s a lot of hate to be coming out of a pastor.

Haven't you been paying attention? :-) Sad but this is getting very common. Check out Jim Wallis's site www.sojo.net it endorses these kinds of liberal nutballs in the name of Evangelical Christianity. It's disgraceful.

It's mighty hard to believe that Jeremiah Wright is a former US Marine!

Kinda like John Kerry was a veteran who served in VietNam?
