Quantifying : fluorescent lights go dim-bright-dim-bright 60 times/sec with the alternating current. Your brain reads the optic nerve input about 40 times/sec. Thus you get a beat frequency that the brain has to constantly adjust for. This gives some people severe headaches in what we architects call SICK buildings. This “snow job” the lobbyists did on the lawyers in DC, for the fluorescent light bulb mfgrs, is all too typical; maybe we need to UNSCREW them...

Thanks, fluorescent lights have always bothered me because of this. As do the flashing ads on TV. I can’t stand to watch those ads. I close my eyes or look away. Those ads are worthless from an advertising stand point in my case.
