The expected deal was that Columbia promised to not raid deep inside Equador and Venezeula to kill more FARCs, while Equador and Venezeula agreed to pull back their forces from their border with Columbia and agree to restore diplomatic relations in the region. If I were Columbia, I wouldn't take that deal. These thugs have every intention of continuing their support for FARC, as do the Cubans. That's why Uribe isn't happy, and I'd bet the DOS is behind this.

That’s OK. Uribe isn’t going to stop killing FARC commanders...even if they are hiding in Equador or Venezuela.

That our communist DOS might be in on this "deal" could be a real problem for Uribe, forced not to incur over the border by the threat of withdrawal of US aid.
