I disagree with McCain on many many many issues. Some of those issues are huge. Personally, I don't care for his personality and don't like his reasoning.

However, he is right on the biggest issue we're dealing with, the war on terror. I think the men before his speech made a good case to support him, including Dick Armey. Since he is (or virtually is) the last man standing for the Republican nomination, he has my full support and vote.

The sad thing is that I thought that the Left was the ideology of extreme cynicism. Its one of the major reasons I became a Conservative. Judging by some of these posts the creeping cynicism of the left seems to have found its way to some of you on the right. Its sad that a decision made by the voting members if the party, through a fair and democratic process mind you, has brought out such sentiments.

For those of you who call yourselves conservatives and claim that you love your country I ask you... do you love it so little that you would willingly hand the Presidency and Congress over to the party who loathes it so, based solely on the emotional let down caused by loosing the nomination. Isn't it time you buried the hatchet and got behind the candidate chosen by your fellow Republicans.

Here’s my question: How does McCain, who was literally dead in the water not long ago, come out of nowhere to win all these primaries? Who are these people who are voting for him? Does he need conservatives to win the general? He seems to be doing just fine without us to secure the nomination.

Not really 11th_VA. It’s just that many in FR are becoming more and more like Kos and DU with the name calling, hyper-ventilating, Juan (John) references, etc.

I usually just lurk and enjoy the circus that is becoming more and more like DU and Daily Kos when McCain or anyone but Reagan is mentioned.

:)

People who rely on 20 minutes of news a day from the MSM (of which FNC is a part) are that stupid.

A mexican singer that Jorge brought in to celebrate Cinco de Mayo at the White House in 2005, I believe.

He says he believes in Liberty, yet sponsored the biggest assault on our most fundamental freedom EVER!

I hear you ... but Fred did the same thing ... and he is treated like a founding father around here (and was my choice as well).

Even Duncan Hunter voted for the huge entitlement expansion that is the prescription drug benefit. McCain was against it.

I actually agree with McCain that we need to "calm down" and think this through. I may end up not voting for McCain, but if I don't, it's not going to be because I'm peeved at him for past offenses.

The guy made recovery from 75% of the U.S. population wanting his hide on a fence over his amnesty bill. His campaign was broke and he was at less than 1% in the polls. Within 6 months he is raking in 20 million a month and is sweeping the election.

Americans may have short attention spans but not THAT short. They do remember this is the guy that wanted amnesty for 30 million criminal illegal aliens. This is the guy that is constantly photographed on the wrong side of the isle in the Senate. This is the guy that tells respected conservative politicians to "shut the f**k up."

And now he is being positioned to the Presidency? With cash, votes, support from the MSM and a red carpet ticket by the party which is telling reps to "not boo him?" In six months?

Damn near magic, huh?

Sorry - it was all worth repeating.

WHAT KIND OF FIX IS IN?

Obviously we are to lay down and die because we have no choice. OF COURSE we prefer to win the war than to drag all our troops out. They are FORCING US to vote McCain. Something nasty is in, and I am not feeling like the United States of America has truly free elections at this point.

I agree JFC. Let’s give McCain a chance to win the White House. Much that we want is possible once that happens.

His position on several dozen issues that are very important to me have already been well established.
Those are the ones that he stands by, and that is why I will vote against him in 08.
I care very little for his statements today.

However, thank you for your post. - Bill

Those morons are the bussed in McCain drones. McCain just used CPAC to stage a PR stunt. Anyone else insulted by this?

They will use these sound bites to bury anyone who says McCain is not their man.

Right at the conclusion of the speech, the first thing MSNBC did was to point out that McCain, if elected, will be the oldest first term president at 72. And so it begins.....

I know he has strange bed fellows... the friend of our enemy is our friend. I have been hard on McCain and will continue to do so, but when it comes down to it my country and my military is first and winning this war is the biggest ambition we have to get done. Those lives who have been lost have to be not lost in vain,

To me..... it comes down to the war, as Mitt sais earlier.

We have to win.... we can not retreat!
