Santorum is as pro-life as they come and has endorsed Romney, who is also pro-life. Is that not enough? In addition, look at the judges and constitutional law scholars that have endorsed Mitt. I respect your choice of candidate, but it is completely unfair to say that Mitt advocates killing babies.

Yep, I heard Rick and later Laura saying she will vote for Mitt.

2012 is starting to creep into the Romney discussions...

Yes there was some fighting. We had a high concentration of Libertarians then, and we fought like cat's and dog's.

The end result was that the Libertarians moved out. We do have a few left but not many.

I did not support Bush at first, but it became obvious that others were too liberal socially and the social conservatives were for Bush. Bush then calmed the fears of the rest of us, and we came together and made history. In that case, I changed my vote. In this case, you must change yours, or we will have no chance.

As it is, we have very little chance, even if everything goes right. The Dem's have a superior campaign and superior public support now. Largely because of the war and immigration.

A purely social conservative like Huckabee has no chance in a national. He is damned before he even starts. The base will split on him, and believe me, as my governor for ten years, I did support him, but there were no others to choose from. He is egotistical and vain, and he is to the left of Romney in a lot of areas, including law and order, and the economy. He had to be, to be elected here. This is a populist liberal state with some conservative notions, or blue dog Dem, as we call it.

The conservative base would only give him weak support and the moderates would flee to the hills because of is theological beliefs about government in November. You can count on that.

He needs to keep his powder dry for another day or be considered for a cabinet post. He could work for a Democrat administration as well. I doubt he will carry Arkansas, but we shall see. I think he should have bowed out.

I have accepted the fact that he will not, and I have also accepted the fact that Romney may lose and following that, we will lose in November and be looking at a second Clintonian eight years.

Not looking forward to it at all. The markets are also worried. The GOP is in the process of cutting it's head off to win a election that cannot be won by the nominee they have chosen. The recriminations that will follow, will be quite interesting.

We only need a 4-5% shift in conservative votes for Romney to stop McCain.

Even if you already voted here is
What You Can Do from home: http://view.victory.mittromney.com/?j=fe841d747c600d7b77&m=fef410757c6001&ls=fdf615777c65027870157073

Coalesce around Romney - Conservatives need to act now, before it is too late.

Romney’s new strategy is here: Click this link and see the chart showing what all of us already know to be true. You see exactly who is causing the split in the conservative vote. He has NEVER had ANY chance of being our nominee - but he (including the “independent” vote) IS THE REASON WHY McCain is on track to be the GOP nominee: http://www.mittromney.com/News/Press-Releases/Gage_Memo_1.31

WAKE UP PEOPLE!! McCain must be stopped NOW! bttt

Hang in there beandog. You’re position is sound. I think that most of us are a bit emotional right now. It’s less about the man and more about our country’s survival.

I believe that even though it was difficult for you, as it has been for many, you have made the right choice with Romney.

I believe he is our best shot and that he will work his tail off for us. I also believe that if it were to turn out that we were wrong, he would be easier to remedy than trying to dump a democrat (or McCain) from office.

Frankly, I believe that Romney is going to do an outstanding job.

Huckabee is our only chance not to be completely sold down the river.

Huck's a RINO himself.
