There's an interesting graphic at the link, and you can also try the
Budometer: a questionnaire designed to determine what kinds of wines a person will like.

Kinda seems like he’s adding to the Rachael Ray-ification of american cuisine - dumbing everything down and taking away the sophistication. To hell with it all, gimme some pressurized cheese and Boone’s Farm!

Instead, he has developed new systems that help customers choose wines based on factors like how they take their coffee and cocktails...Or, you could just try various wines and figure out what you like. Or is that too simplistic?
I mean, it's not terribly surprising that someone like me, who likes strong black coffee and strong dark beer, would like a dry, tannic wine; and that someone who likes latte with lots of sugar would like a sweeter wine. Doh!
I was surprised at the low estimate of the percentage of Americans who are wine and beer drinkers. Only 35% of U.S. adults ever drink wine, and just 45% ever drink beer? Really? Among my acquaintances, the percentage is more like 99% in both cases. Then again, I meet most of my friends in bars, so maybe my sampling is skewed.
