I will vote for the candidate of my choice. That won’t be McCain, no matter how many liberals order me to vote for him. I’m disappointed to see many FReepers agreeing to vote for whoever the liberals tell them to vote for, whether it’s McCain or some other liberal. Shame.

How exactly does that result differ from what would happen with a RINO (read Socialist-Lite) in the White House?

The Republican party and conservatism will have been redefined by the next general election to the point where Rudy Guiliani will be too "conservative" to ever win an election. Rudy will be the Barry Goldwater of tomorrow.

Is it worth it?

If you’re from Maine as your screen name implies, how is it living in the land of RINOs and socialists ? You all give us Collins, Snowe, and then say we shoul do the same on a national scale ? You need to start work in your own state to get rid of socialist-lites.

golly gee - lot of assumptions and blanket condemnation in there!

First off - you have no idea of how 'politically active' I have been over the years - and second of all, I, alone, am not responsible for all the liberal flat-landers that have infiltrated Maine in the past 2-3 decades - nor, all by myself, going to 'get rid of' them -

Don't assume, however, that I have not/am not doing all I can.

You don't have the capacity to know that...

OOOOOoohhhhhh. You've been her SIX WHOLE YEARS. I'm soooo impressed. I'll just bow and scrape, and drink your Kool-Aid.

I have been here a lot longer than you, n00b and Chunga is correct in his assessments.

If anyone is jumping to conclusions it is you. Are you going to try out for the olympics?

“Of course, letting the Socialists back in power will help the Republican party ==== and the sun rises in the west”

Electing a bunch of RINO scum will put the power of the party in their hands.

We’ll get globalist erosion of sovereignty, open borders, collaboration with the ‘rats, erosion of civil liberties, higher taxes, and so on and so forth.

I’ll take gridlock over that any day.

Thanks to Rush, I know where Rio Linda is, and what it means to say that somebody is from there. Stuff it, n00b. RINOs aren't socialists

Gee, you've got it all figured out... everybody in a nice, neat little cubbyhole. All I gotta do is drink your Kool-Aid. It's a very comfortable alternative to thinking. Too bad it's all so thoroughly wrong.

The only thing a McCain win will do for the republican party is redefine Republican party and conservatism will have been redefined by the next general election to the point where Rudy Guiliani will be too “conservative” to ever win an election. Rudy will be the Barry Goldwater of tomorrow. Why would we want to allow young America think that today’s moderate left of center democrat is tomorrow’s typical republican?

It blows my mind... I have been attacked on Free Republic because I am too Conservative and will not vote for a liberal. Can you believe it? Unreal.

“The Republican party and conservatism will have been redefined by the next general election to the point where Rudy Guiliani will be too “conservative” to ever win an election. Rudy will be the Barry Goldwater of tomorrow.”

Great phrasing.

We will be defining Republicanism down to the point that it becomes unrecognizable.

Hillary WANTS you to vote for the RINO. It will split the party, create a conservative third (and/or fourth) and guarantee Dem control forever.

I’ll be damned if I vote for a lib just because of the R next to their name. The same people who exhort that are telling Paul supporters to quit the party, and saying Hunter and Thompson should drop out now.

Every day, trackers like Alexis travel from campaign event to campaign event, quietly filming the Republican presidential candidates

that email from Shrillary tells a lot doesn't it?

Thanks for posting it - and I'm amazed that Freepers don't seem to be aware that she has 'trackers' in FR also = for at least 8 years - and they don't just 'track' - they post to influence...

If he becomes president (without any vote from us) I'll just get more ammo, cocoon, and read "Don't Shoot the Bastards (yet)" and wait. lol

This country will go to hell in a handbasket pdq.

Kinda like the Huckster supporters telling the Paul supporters to quit the party.

Unbelievable.

“I will vote for whoever the GOP man may be. I dispise with everything in my blood the Clintons and I will vote for whoever runs against her....”

Obama can beat her. The excuse for voting for a RINO I’ve heard around here for the last year is, “But, But HE can beat Hillary!” What a pathetic reason to pick a candidate. Heck, Obama can beat her. At least we’d know what we’re getting.

Well, congratulations!

"chunga" is still wrong. So are you.

He's been acting like an ass, so I treated him with contempt. You'll note that I discuss the matter more civilly with other posters.

I gave up voting for RINOS for Lent ... I liked it so much, that I've decided to continue the practice indefinitely.

Deal with it.

Bottom line.

If the question “If McCain wins the nomination, will you support him?” has to be asked in FR then he probably is NOT the one who will unquestionably excite the republican base enough to beat the democrats.
