Online test helps determine your ideal presidential candidate
ABC4 ^ | Kerry Kinsey

Posted on 11/12/2007 3:03:35 PM PST by mdittmar

With less than a year to go before the presidential election, many people are trying to find out more about the candidates. A fascinating web site has the ability to pick the person who best represents your values and beliefs. It's called The Select a Candidate Quiz. We set up the web site page on a laptop computer at the Salt Lake Roasting Company.

Julie Jensen is our volunteer. She's say she's 25 years old, from Salt Lake City and describes herself as a moderate who leans a bit toward the left. Julie filled out several questions on timely issues including, Iraq, immigration, the death penalty and abortion.

After she finishes the quiz, she's ready to see her results. She wants to find out whom the computer thinks she should vote for. Earlier she told us her favorite next November is probably Hillary Clinton. The computer says, "Chris Dodd, Obama, Clinton." Jenny says she’s impressed, she says, "Maybe it knows better than I do."

We answered the same questions with a conservative bend and got our top four candidates as Duncan Hunter, Fred Thompson, Mitt Romney and John McCain.

To take the quiz yourself, go to the Select a Candidate quiz.

Interesting...

Thompson

Hunter

equal score... so that is the ticket for me..

Note..I WILL support the Republican candidate, WHOEVER it may be.

No way is it correct now to "teach" a lesson, or ever to allow any dedicated socialist the reigns of power or to appoint judges that we will live with for a generation.

For you purists, PLEASE think on this.

Interesting. I tied Thompson & Hunter but the only one of the entire group I agreed with on immigration was Tancredo (a close 2nd).

"Farthest from Hillary, although I vote for her before I would vote for Romney or Rudy."

You have got to be joking?

It’s a protest vote, really.

I refuse to support people just because “they’re not as bad as Hillary” -— if we don’t stand our ground, they’ll just keep forcing RINOs on us.

I guess I’d really go vote for the Constitution party candidate, or somesuch.

It may be significant, in that I am in New Mexico, and have my whole church group at least saying the same thing.

Only 2 (or 3?) votes, but elections turn on a couple hundred votes in NM.

We will stay home or protest vote in some way if there is a RINO candidate.

Kind of odd.

Tancredo...38, McCain...33 (???!!!), Hunter...31, Thompson...31.

I supposedly favor Ron Paul over Rudy. Gravel is at the bottom.

Does the test measure character? Any dog, cat, or rat can wear a sign that says "Here's the policy for YOU!".

In the end if you don't consider character THE major reason to allow a vote for a given candidate, you end up voting for chaos, hell and a lottery ticket.

Mine was a three-way tie between Thompson, Hunter and Ron Paul.

Just for ya-ya’s , I’m actually leaning Thomson, I tried to make Huckabee my man. He disagreed with me on taxes and energy no matter what button I pushed. I tried them all. The highest I could get it to go was 63.

Thompson, McCain, Hunter all tied for first.
Tancredo second.
Giuliani ranks down there with the Dems, while the other Republicans muck around below 50%.

It told me that John McCain was my perfect match, but there wasn't a question asking if I favored or opposed abridging my free speech rights through so-called campaign finance reform.

It did show Fred or Hunter as my second option.

I got about the same
McCain 58
Thompson 55
Hunter 55

No, I can’t go with McCain. Not after McCain-Feingold.

It gave my preference as “Ronald Reagan” first and “Barry Goldwater” second.
