Why was my first reaction to think that this was about Brit Hume?

An example of emotional distress overiding intelligence!

I can understand the guy's frustration. Running across an interstate is a bad move, but there are times you might have to do it, certainly don't recommend it as I've seen one casualty from that. Probably a stupid move in this case but understandable.

If his story is true and reported correctly, a psychological evaluation? Geez. Yeah, I guess so knowing security is what it is now. Like the time I ran frantically with my dog at SF airport to the cargo area, a long ways, because I had to get him on that flight. We would have had to drive 60 miles and back again if we missed it.

I can just see a security guard tackling me and my dangerous dog. But 6 layers of barbed wire is a bit much. I have tried to climb 3 or 4 layers, too, just to see what it was like, no ulterior motive, just wondered if I could do it, think it was a football stadium. I was deterred.

But then I frequently climbed over barbed wire on the farm when I was young and agile and thought nothing of it. I suppose I got a few scratches and bruises. Big deal.
