I ran across this article and have not seen it anywhere. It is 10 pages long and quite a read. I am not knowledgeable in this area at all nor do I know how Esquire leans or how they might chop up their articles. The people the story is about were employed in the Bush Administration. It causes me to question what is really going on.

Only got to the second paragraph and saw this line.
That's not a serious approach to diplomacy, Mann says. Diplomacy is about talking to your enemies.
then this line.
He repeated his firm belief that the White House had to draw up a road map with real solutions to the division of Jerusalem and the problem of refugees, something with final borders. That was the only remedy to the crisis in the Middle East.
Then this line.
But the important thing is that the Iranians agreed to talk unconditionally, Mann says. "They specifically told me time and again that they were doing this because they understood the impact of this attack on the U.S., and they thought that if they helped us unconditionally, that would be the way to change the dynamic for the first time in twenty-five years."

She believed them.
Never believe the words of your enemies, only their actions....

Then this little tidbit sums it up--
Abdullah sat down and told Bush he was going to ask a direct question and wanted a direct answer. Are you going to do anything about the Palestinian issue?

Then the king of Jordan came to Washington to see Bush. There had to be a road map for peace in Palestine, the king said.
(translation)If you don't help us Arabs push the Jews into the sea, we will make life harder for you...

I cant get myself to read past the halfway mark on this story. A CIA analyst and a state department flunkie (we voted for Bush, uh huh. Just cus they said it we should believe them) are upset with how our elected Republican officials decide to handle matters, imagine that. Maybe these two should accept the fact that the iranians were lying to them all the while building nukes.
