I see what you mean...
Look for a plot of ground away from:
a river that overflows annually,
a valley/corridor with aridity so
low it’a a tinderbox
a below sea level plot with ocean
access
a plot located along tornado alley
a site that is not avalanche prone
a plot located nowhere near a major
fault line - earthquakes

In the US, it sounds like the Great
MidWest is the ideal spot. All you
have to worry about is frost bite and
shoveling snow for a few weeks.
In Europe, I’d take a chance on Italy.
