"DENNIS TOWNSHIP, N.J. - A second-grader's drawing of a stick figure shooting a gun earned him a one-day school suspension.

Kyle Walker, 7, was suspended last week for violating Dennis Township Primary School's zero-tolerance policy on guns, the boy's mother, Shirley McDevitt, told The Press of Atlantic City."

" A photocopy of the picture provided by McDevitt showed two stick figures with one pointing a crude-looking gun at the other, the newspaper said. What appeared to be the word "me" was written above the shooter, with another name scribbled above the other figure."

"Kyle drew other pictures, including a skateboarder, King Tut, a ghost, a tree and a Cyclops, the newspaper reported. "

What is this country coming to? They'd thrown me in jail for some of the things I drew as a kid if this is worthy of suspension.

Good thing he did not make his fingers like a gun and point it at somebody. He would have been gone for the year. I feel much safer now that kids can’t even have a drawing of a stick gun.

It’s no wonder that 50% of the population of NJ wants to leave.

I would bring wolf and fox pelts to screwl in the 4th grade during show and tell. I wonder what that would do to politically asinine libs today?

So wearing a gun to school is still ok as long as you don’t draw it ?

As a 7 yr old I drew airplanes in combat, shooting Zeros down and bombers dropping bombs. Also 2 dimentional drawings of shooting from caves and behind barriers. Lots of dead stick guys too. I guess you can get life for that today.

I think suspensions are in order in cases like these.

Anyone who is so pathologically afraid of certain inanimate objects that they fear a 7 year olds drawing of one should be suspended pending termination for mental illness.

How do we, as citizens, put an end to this unbelievable nonsense?

Same here - I guess the wortless public schools in New Jersey consider a piece of notebook paper a deadly weapon.

Hope this kid’s pulled out - he’s got potential.

This is the “new society” (Enforced by P.C. Liberals), and hippies/yuppies!

They are FOOLS: I would have been suspended about a “billion” times growing up for drawing things like this as a kid. It’s part of being a guy, the American male..What are these peoople ‘weenies’..?

I drew tanks and guns all the time. Then again, it was 1996 when I entered 2nd grade.

I brought an old winchester rifle to show and tell once. Granted this was a long, long, long time ago.

Drawing guns, kissing girls, punching bullies, etc. ...They'd have expelled my politically incorrect ass in less than a week.

Just drawing a gun is a minor offense. But if he drew the safety in the unlocked position, and bullets coming out of the barrel, then he should be fried.

I brought my cap gun six shooter to kindergarten once. No one blinked and eye. I also had a Green Beret lunch box with battle scenes on all sides. The horror!
