Turkey’s responsibility to deal with it’s past is its business, not that of the US Government.

Exactly. This is just stupid. Thankfully President Bush is making clear his opposition.

Well and it’s not like Turkey hasn’t already thrown a wrench in the works by not allowing the 4 ID to stage from Turkey. You could also add those who realize we have no “friends” in Islam to your list.

I would much rather had the 4th ID roll through the Sunni Triangle, but in war, you improvise, and flexible strategy and logistics are part and parcel of your success. The 3d and 10th Special forces Group, augmented by Kurdish forces had to pick up the slack and did a good job or as good as could be reasonably expected.

Turkey needs us far more than we need them. We have bought ourselves enough sorrow supporting mohammedans just to have them betray us time and time, again.

It makes no difference if the average American knows in their heart that dims will destroy this Nation. We are far too divided to amass a real challenge to President Hillary Rodham Clinton. I am working as hard as I can to help save America... but when people in your own trenches are shooting at their own people... and the Generals are ignoring requests for air support... when Conservatives are looked upon by Republicans from all walks of life... looked upon as a liability... the Republican Party is headed for a serious challenge to it’s very existence. GOD help us in our hour of need... Amen!

Yes, pandering to Islamists always pays off big time.

I take it you have no problem with Holocaust denial either.

My question to him as well.

Turkey has been basing the US Navy and US Army,

Are they doing that for free?

Exactly - GWB acknowledged such ugly things happened - He gave his comfort and said the world should not forget those who died.

That is completely different than passing a useless, symbolism over substance piece of legislation. While in doing so, the costs of supporting such needless symbolism could only further hurt the current WOT.

Understand, 2-20-2000.....Was a pre 9-11 world. The world changed that day. Priorities changed that day for serious adults.

"Dang if you don’t sound just like a liberal dim trying to squelch opinions that differ from yours."

I saw your posted thread where you support this move by democrats at this time. I believe you do not care if it hurts our efforts in Iraq. I stand by my posts and was not trying to squelch others opinions. I posted mine.

If you lack the courage to denounce Islamic Genocide for fear of upsetting radical Islamists, you've already lost the WOT.

You are taking a issue that happened 80 years ago and trying to address it today. Symbolically.

It is as foolish and irrelevant as the African American community constantly trying to dress up present day people in the costumes and labels of long ago history.....

Again, 9-11 changed the world (for serious adults). We are in a war. We do not have time for useless symbolism.

Armenians have been pushing for this for a while.

It is an attempt to stop revisionist history.

The Republicans had an opportunity to use this to their own political gain but failed.

Turkey screwed the USA on Iraq support, screwed up Cyprus reunification, plays games with the Kurds.

Turkey does have water deals with Israel but that would not be hurt by this.

Keep in mind the Turkish government is going after the Ecumenical Patriarchate for use of the word “Ecumenical.”

Revisionist history is wrong and must be fought and with friends like Turkey who needs enemies.

The only freepers that support this condemnation of Turkey at this point and time IMO are: against the Iraq war, Libertarians, support Ron Paul, Democrats/Liberals posing as conservatives or ill informed about the consequences of this condemnation now

I don't fall into any of the categories you mentioned. That's why I took exception to it.

Understand, 2-20-2000.....Was a pre 9-11 world. Priorities changed that day for serious adults.

Only an abject coward would abandon American ideals out of fear of a bunch goat humping cave dwellers.

The threat compared to past threats is minuscule. The stakes in the Cold War were the lost of every urban center in America and yet we denounced Stalinism.

Spare me the "serious adults" crapola. This isn't pragmatism, it is intellectually and morally bankrupt cowardice.

“OK, I’ll bite. What has Turkey done for us?”

Turkey is a big part of NATO and much of our current military goods go into Iraq through Turkey.

Look at the map....Turkey is in a critical location!

Calling a goddamn liar a goddamn liar is not symbolism. We aren’t talking about 80 years ago, we are talking about Radical Islam’s inability to acknowledge its own murderous behavior. People like you are pandering to our enemies.

After reading the foxnews story on congress and Turkey please tell me WHY the democrats are bringing up stuff that happened in WW I other then to try to lose the war in Iraq by pissing off Turkey, one of the few islamic states that help us.

Same reason Obama wants to bomb Pakistan...they're not on our side. Musharraf's one of our few ME allies and he wants to bomb his country...Turkey is one of the few ME countries not hostile to the US and the Dems criticize them. Here's a novel idea guys, how 'bout you stop criticizing Rush Limbaugh and our Turkish allies and crack down on al-Qaida?
