I’ve been thinking. We need a national animal, sort of like the national bird.

What about a pig?

1,275th anniversary of the conclusion of the Battle of Tours

Your work there is well remembered and much admired, Hammer.

a pig would be good just as long as we don’t dress it up in clothes—a naked pig, just like God made it

It's odd... I remember a travel agent's office that I saw many years ago - it had a large poster that read: "France glows in Autumn".

Yep - it's all the burning Renaults and Citroens.

OMG I caught myself looking for the Looter Guy in that picture - not examining the actual picture itself.

Just an obvious comment on the effects of welfare housing, here. So many youths that live in the subsidized housing get in trouble, join gangs, prey on inhabitants of the projects, tear up the housing, etc. They have free housing, help with the utilities, food stamps, medicaid for health ins, or some other state/fed program (like SCHIPS). If the families were required to work in order to receive; if they could get help only for a limited time--would things be different? I think they would.

My husband is in late seventies and he had the proverbial farmboy upbringing-had to milk the cows before school. Walked to a country school, carrying a leftover biscuit and, hopefully a piece of bacon for lunch. In HS could not play sports because he had chores. Turned out to be a good, hardworking, responsible man.Our kids, now from 45 to 52, had responsibilities at home or they didn't get their allowance. They griped, but all learned how to work. It is a good character builder.

Too many free handouts make lazy, gimme characters, and the Dems are busy inventing more<.p>vaudine

Nearly half the people in this town live in one housing project? WTF?

Here's a map of the city, with the "off limits to non-Muslims" area marked in red. You're right. It is about one third of the town.

Saint Dizier - Vert Bois

This comes from a French publication which shows the hundreds of ATLAS DES ZONES URBAINES SENSIBLES "off limits" areas in France, which native non-Muslim Frenchmen are warned to avoid for their own safety.

Can't be, the French kicked them out the country a long time ago

And we still remember that. Along with other incidents which led to our departure.

If it's got to be a pig, I nominate this guy's offspring.

Detroit, but that's in low-class America. (/s)

I mean really, a car fire in October?

Lack of a father, who is not needed to provide for the physical needs of the mother and children seems to be a big factor as well.

Even if the father is present, which is probably the case with these French Muzzies, if he's not the provider, and is not respected by the mother and children, because they don't see him *doing* anything, also contributes to the "Rage".

And then when that rage is directed by a Mad Mullah at the local Mosque, you get this sort of thing, or worse.

With a pig like that as the national mammal, the Diamondback Rattler being the national reptile (Don't Tread On Me!), we would have little problem with lack of cojones.

They refuse to talk about Marcel’s death...

Yes they are internalizing, and their angst is manifesting in this violence.
