Interesting - Zoroastrianism also is monotheistic, has good and evil, a flood story and incorporates many of the peoples of the Bible in its history.

Zoroastrianism was extremely revolutionary in its heyday because the supreme God of that religion (Ahura Mazda) very likely was the inspiration for the monotheistic God of Judaism and Christianity. Pretty amazing considering that at the time of Zoroaster, polytheism was the norm for religious beliefs in the eastern Mediterranean and what is now the Middle East.

I ALalways thought it interesting that it considered monotheistic, but has demi-gods like Mithra. I have been looking at this religion because my family name seems to have ties to it and because I liked using elements of it for a religion in my fantasy novel.
