(CBS) JERSEY CITY A Jersey City woman made a shocking discovery on her lawn this morning when she noticed a military rocket launcher lying in the grass.
Niranjana Besai was leaving her house at 88 Nelson Street, to go to work at just after 8 a.m. when she saw the launcher on her front lawn. She immediately called police.
Besai's neighbor, Joe Quinn saw her pointing at the equipment from her front porch. When he walked over to the six-foot-long weapon, he was just as shocked. It looked like a bazooka, he told CBS 2 News.
Quinn tells CBS 2 HD he originally thought the launcher was just a pipe, but after noticing it had a picture of a soldier on it, he realized it looked similar to a missile launcher he'd seen on television.
Jersey City Police removed the launcher, and the incident is now being investigated by the Joint Terrorism Task Force and The Federal Bureau of Investigation.
Jersey City Police could not confirm whether it was actually operable.
But, sources tell CBS 2s Scott Weinberger that its the kind of missile that can take down an aircraft and the area where the launcher was discovered is in or very near a flight path for Newark Liberty International Airport.

Guess which ethnic group is concentrated in JC.
Roger Hedgecock talking about this on Rush right now.
“According to WCBS-TV, the launcher was an AT4 anti-tank missile launcher. According to online information from manufacturer Saab Bofors Dynamics, the weapon is effective against landing craft, aircraft and helicopters.
The device, believed to be about 20 years old, posed no hazard, police said. It may have been used for anti-tank training, police said.
So now weh ave an ID! Apparently it’s NOT an airplane-killer, a copter is the max altitude.
Still not clear if its the whole unit or just the spent launcher tube (most likely scenario and as dangerous as an empty 12ga shell).
But that won’t matter to the press, google news shows sources claiming it was a military MANPAD device brimming with menace.
Actually, I just now watched the video clip. I couldn’t help but note, the news geek pointed at the lawn, and said, “You can still see the indentation of where it was”. I am not implying that was due to what I mentioned earlier, but still odd. I recall putting a heavy tool box on my lawn for almost 2 days. And within 2 hours of removing it, the indentation of the box was gone, and the grass again appeared normal, with no visible box impression left.
“Kind of hard to debunk a blinking rocket launcher lying in your front yard.....”
People to this day are making their living off of Roswell NM
Two days ago a military bomb was found in a field near Orlando, FL. Folks keep yur powder dry and yur head outta yur (you-know) cuz somethin is a brewin and I don’t think it’s beer.
Good I’ll look for it.
So now we have an ID! Apparently its NOT an airplane-killer, a copter is the max altitude.
Not an airplane killer?
But wasn't this found under the flight path where aircraft are at lower altitude? I've been to many airports, and on approach or departure, you can almost throw a baseball and hit the cockpit.
If rocket launchers are banned, only the criminals in government...?
"I had a gut feeling.
Took a Tums and that cleared it right up.
There is no sign of terrorism with this incident."
It must have dropped off the back of the truck as its carriers were hunting, without a local map, in the middle of the night, for a route to the Jersey City water-front on the Hudson River.

Look at the map, and try throwing a baseball at an aircraft from here...

NONE!
Conservatives are peaceful, law abiding citizens, who NEVER even think about stashing an illegal weapon or ammunition inside a purged & sealed, large diameter PVC pipe buried next to the septic tank.
The point was simply we have alot of 800 conspiracy promoters (apparently) here. ;-)
smoking gun of the rocket that brought down Flight 800?
LOL!!
Maybe the Feds siezed it from the cops, who wanted to play with it too?
“Jersey City Police could not confirm whether the device was actually operable, however an AT-4 can apparently only be used once. If it had been fired previously, than it would not be operable any longer.

As the story develops, a note of caution creeps in. If they had waited a bit before reporting the anti-aircraft launcher story, they would not need to creep into the real story.
Get ABS and you won't have to paint it.
*knock knock* Federal Septic Inspector, Sir. I need to check your tanks....
