notice the S at the end of “Bush Bashers.” Speaking to the collective that meet that definition - and they are obvious. “You” in the eglish language can and, in this case, is being used in the plural. The broad vague plural to whom it refers. If that’s you (singular) - then wear it. If it isnt - find a worthy post to vent your righteous indignation. One that applies to you (singular). As for GWOT - the point stands - the choices were Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rice, Tenet, and Powell (wolfowitz and others not to shabby either - even advice from Kissinger) - Or Gore, Albright, Fuerth, Maybe Tenet, Cohen (or Clark), and God knows what other pacifist amateurs. MMMM. For a guy who wears the uniform - the choice is obvious and immediate. Then and now. Agree on the detractions, but the fact that it was the best choice, by orders of magnitude, are obvious.

That is a critical distinction that is all too often brushed aside the moment Bush falls flat on an issue.

Bush took the GWOT to the enemy, something no Rat would ever do, nor will they ever let it happen again if they can help it. I strongly believe he's saved hundreds of thousands of US citizens by making a tough, unpopular, but absolutely essential decision. He is wrong in many - most ways on illegal aliens, but he is trying to address it rather than leave it for the next POTUS.

Bush also didn't start the alien invasion, neither did Toon, or 41, or Reagan.

Reagan allowed an amnesty that's debatedly worse, 41 ignored it, as did Toon, and there's no ill words spoken against any of them.

He could have sat on his ass staring at all those straight A's on his report card, some of which place him in the very top rungs of conservatism and patriotism, but he felt that, as he was the right president for the times in so many other battles, he'd be able to make the right calls on the illegals.

He was wrong, and he put himself in a position where the party of sanctuary cities and welfare for other countries' citizens will extort concessions on his victories in exchange for promises they will never keep.

This is the quagmire that he needs to walk away from and let a more aggressive Conservative Republican President deal with. The only thing he should be discussing is how fast the entire fences can be built, how fast can we hire and arm thousands more border patrol.(& fire Johhny Sutton, and free Ramos & Campeon)

We need him to address other issues of national security right now, such as the high level leaks by the DOD & others, and the political persecution of the most honorable and dedicated men this nation has, our Defenders. He needs to sit down with Navy Secretary Winters and let him know that the NCIS is not above the law or reproach.

I appreciated Bush's break from a disastrous past in that he wants his generals prosecuting the war, not partisan politicians.

It is now time that he direct an investigation be made into congressional pressure against these generals to fabricate charges, based solely on insurgent propaganda, in an attempt to disable our capabilities to secure victories - and not some BS rat congressional oversight committee made up of what should be the defendants, such as having Gorelick on the 911 commission.

OK, understood. Perhaps mine was a knee-jerk reaction because I have heard so much of the same sort of rhetoric from many here over the last few weeks for simply voicing my opinion on illegal immigration, and being critical of our President and his stance and tone on this issue. For that, I do apologize.

Please understand that part of the reason I took your post personally was because it was addressed to me. If there is a general comment to be made on a thread, not addressed to anyone in particular many replace the poster’s name in the “To:” field with “All”, instead. That will prevent future confusion. Another alternative is simply to reply to the main post (#1), instead of the last post on the thread...

I’ll say it again — without the sarcasm this time — WELCOME TO FR! (o:

(And, THANK YOU! for your service to our country. It means more to me and my family, than mere words can express... God bless you and keep you safe, angrymarine).
