Driver of semi-trailer with 70 undocumented migrants arrested

DULZURA – A truck driver was arrested yesterday after U.S. Border Patrol agents discovered he was hauling 70 undocumented migrants in the back of a semi-trailer specially designed for human smuggling, authorities said.

The arrest came after the driver tried crossing a Border Patrol checkpoint near Tecate.

The trailer was equipped with a large freezer chest, iced drinks, fans and a trap door in the floor to discreetly load and unload drugs or people, the Border Patrol said.

Agents received an anonymous call at 4:30 p.m. reporting a large group of people were being loaded into a semi-trailer in a Tecate trucking lot near the port of entry.

About two hours later, agents spotted a tractor-trailer matching the caller's description trying to cross the Border Patrol checkpoint on state Route 94.

The driver appeared nervous and was sent to a secondary inspection area, where he allowed agents to search his trailer, the Border Patrol said.

Inside, agents found 70 people hiding behind a wall of shredded cardboard.

The undocumented migrants were taken into custody and processed at a nearby station.

The driver, whose name was not released, was arrested on suspicion of alien smuggling.

I have a feeling they wouldn’t even be arresting these guys if Bush hadn’t told them to look serious for a week or so while they push the amnesty bill. If the amnesty gets passed, they will go back to doing nothing. And any border guard who tries to do his job will be thrown in jail.

I’m sure the illegals were told to show up at a deportation hearing and released into the US.

What? No TV?

LOL!

After reading the article I was going to post, "Border Patrol Agents became suspicious when they noticed a large Direct TV dish mounted on the roof of the truck trailer."

The undocumented migrants were taken into custody and processed at a nearby station.

They're "illegal aliens", not "undocumented migrants". And, what exactly does "taken into custody and processed at a nearby station" mean? Catch and release?

Homeland Security czar Michael Jerkoff is only capable of confiscating toothepaste and lipstick from Swedish women at airports if the security level is Tom Ridge's level orange. Or is it green, blue, yellow, pink...

None of these bozos could empty their boots reading the directions on the heel.

..Where they were given social security cards, $500, a fake drivers license and the directions to the nearest Home Depot to look for work..

Where the hell is the UN in all this?

After all, we have a massive 12,000,000 pouring over our borders and we are told by EVERYBODY that they can’t survive in their own country so they are coming here.

That makes them economic REFUGEES.

The UN is supposed to deal with REFUGEES, I mean 12,000,000 is far worse than Rwanda, or Darfur or the Gaza Strip, so where are the UN in dealing with this crisis?

just thought I’d ask...
