Lott Lashes Out!

Lott Lashes Out! GOP Senate whip Trent Lott attacks "these talk-radio people who don't even know what's in the bill." The New York Times reports:

Comments by Republican senators on Thursday suggested that they were feeling the heat from conservative critics of the bill, who object to provisions offering legal status. The Republican whip, Trent Lott of Mississippi, who supports the bill, said: "Talk radio is running America. We have to deal with that problem."

At some point, Mr. Lott said, Senate Republican leaders may try to rein in "younger guys who are huffing and puffing against the bill."

[E.A.] a) 'Feeling the heat'! b) It's of course in the interests of the bill's backers to make it seem as if opposition only comes from "talk radio," and not, say, from the AFL-CIO--or from ordinary non-radio Democrats and Republicans, for that matter; c) Is that Rush you're talkin' about? d) Is Lott still smarting from the lack of support he got from the GOP grassroots after his appalling Strom Thurmond comments? e) Is he making a play for Strange New Respect? f) Wasn't it Lott who criticized as "not helpful" Bush's bashing of GOP opponents of the bill? I think it was. g) Isn't the obvious pro-bill strategy to let the opposition calm down, not stir it up? h) I thought it was John McCain who didn't know what was in the bill. ... 2:34 A.M

What we are witnessing is the runaway administration feeling the HEAT OF PATRIOTIC REALITY and their agenda cannot take it — SO THEY ARE ATTACKING THE CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS OF FREE SPEECH TO TRY AND SUPPRESS OPPOSITION.

HOW PLAIN AND SIMPLE CAN IT BE — and you can take this pandering, turncoat, loser RINO and trash him. And to think that conservatives defended this POS when the libs attacked him...shows you what Washington has turned into.

Lott lashes out

Is this even possible? I mean, we're talking about someone who has the vertebrae of a bacterium.

"Talk radio is running America. We have to deal with that problem."

The notion that people freely expressing their opinions on radio is a "problem" shoud scare every single person who loves Liberty.

It is exactly this sort of thinking (that people expressing their opinions is a problem) that gave us McCain/Feingold.

Whatever Bush has is contagious.

He has all the Republicans turning into Libs.

I’m just amazed at what is going on lately.

Lott to America: “SHUT UP AND DO WHAT YOU’RE TOLD!”

If I lived in Mississippi, I’d vote for a dead skunk over Lott.

Truly amazing, it is never their fault.

You are 100% right. And Lott and the other amnesty Republicans will lead the charge. Watch. I swear, the GOP is imploding more and more with each passing second.

It’s on now, Senator Helmet Hair. Trent picked a fight with the wrong crowd, fool that he is. These politicians do not own those elected seats, and the voters need to remind them of that fact often.

At some point, Mr. Lott said, Senate Republican leaders may try to rein in "younger guys who are huffing and puffing against the bill."

Excuse me?

My generation is about to get stuck with the tab for this abomination of a law and all of its subsequent revisions that surrender "more and more and more" of American sovereignty to the "New World Order."

Yet, you have no problem trading away the freedoms and the future earnings of those "younger guys" (and gals too!) just to pander to the illegal immigrants and the leftists So...as far as I am concerned, Senator Lott, you can go to hell, either willingly or when we drag you out of office during your next election cycle.

Trent Lott is a bastard and a rat and a traitor to his own voters. He’s now sticking the knife to people that have backed him through thick and thin for years, including people that stood beside him for years. This man deserves only scorn and bile.

Trent, if there is anything in that bill that grants legal status of any sort to those here illegally, I really don't give a HOOT what any other provisions or wording of the bill contain. Get that through your thick head.

Trent, baby, it doesn’t matter what’s in the bill. Once they all have citizenship, the rest of it will be ignored.

You know that. It won’t be the first time.

"Talk radio is running America. We have to deal with that problem."

Let's see here. We have the Huffington Post, DailyKOS, Democratic Underground on the left. Hannity, Rush, Savage, and Beck on the right. Roll them all up together and it sounds a lot like "We The People" to me.

You can pound sand for all I care Lott.
