We’re gonna acquiesce to Hamas’ takeover of the Gaza Strip.

Do we have any choice in the matter - short of an invasion?

May as well let them work things out. Beats the heck out of thinking we/NATO can send in troops to do it.

The State Department insisted that the United States had no plans to abandon Palestinians living in Gaza.

I presume that means we'll provide aid to Hamas as well. Only humanitarian, and only to their as yet to be established non-military arm that the State Dept. is babbling about.

Accept a blatant, in-your-face, militant, terrorist Islamic takeover of the Gaza strip?

Outrageous.

We should give the IDF the green light to defeat Hamas completely, with no-holds barred...and we should blatantly and before the world help them in every way possible, logistically, G2, etc. while they do it.

Bush is, without a doubt the worst president in history, and not for what he has done, but for what he has not done. He has been handed so many chances for meaningful change and just pissed it away. Be it border security and immigration, wasteful government spending, and now a terrorist regime with a mind for expansion, he has simply dropped the ball. If a full scale bombing and repulsion of Hamas does not take place within the month, I’d say ‘incompetent’ would be the wrong word for him. Rather, substitute ‘comatose’.

Iow, American taxpayer dollars will continue to flow, and plans for a Islamic terrorist state on Israel's doorstep remain intact.

And the U.S.has exactly what choices in this matter?
1-Accept Hamas in Gaza and admit that EVERYTHING the U.S.did was incorrect and that we actually fostered the current situation.

2-Do not accept the current situation and reduce the amount of U.S.cash that we supply to the Palestinians by 0.00010%.

3-Say “Dammit!” and pressure the Israelis to “be more forthcoming and flexible in seeking peace; and give up more land for Peace”.

4-Do not accept it and have U.S.soldiers dress as Fatah personnel and go into active combat with Hamas, providing a major Ass Whuppin' that no one will believe actually came from the incompetent and moronic Palestinian Authority troops, who we arm, train, dress, feed, provide medical care to and pay.(Actually this although the dumbest idea of the lot, may be the one selected by the current Kakistocracy in Washington, D.C., just based on it’s gross stupidity)

The U.S. shouldn’t “accept” anything. Just sit back and let those animals kill each other and then go in and wipe out the remainder. They are all supported by Iran....when are we going to wake up?

We need the one-Grant solution to the strip (as in Ulysses S.) Note I am a Southerner saying this so I do not mean to be unsympathetic to those poor besiged in MS.

But really The Vicksburg Plan looks good to me. Yea Hamas has the strip. Yea they are surrounded. They should be made to enjoy it about like the Vicksburg residents enjoyed their visit by General Grant. No money, food, etc. sent in. Leave one way or the other.

That is what should be in store for Hamastan.

Ooops....The Roadmap has taken another dead end turn.

The goal of U.S. security assistance is to help create the conditions necessary to advance Israeli-Palestinian peace via the Roadmap. _-- Keith Dayton, US Security Coordinator

Yes, they created conditions alright. They gave arms, equipment and money to Fatah... and guess who has it now. What conditions are they going to pursue next? You can't negotiate with people determined to destroy you. When will these people get it?
