Would be curious what would the Turks do if a good chunk of those 60,000 Armenians returned to Van and started using the church again.

So are Catholics (three or four priests have been murdered - one as he knelt in prayer; and Turks who convert to Christianity are prosecuted and imprisoned for “insulting Turkishness” or “insulting Islam”; two of them had their throats slit along with a German evangelist a couple of months ago).
“Secular” Turkey is as hostile and dangerous to Christians as Saudi Arabia or any other Muslim country. But try telling that to Pres. Bush or Condoleeza Rice. They are under the delusion that Turkey is our ally in the war on terror against other Muslim countries.
