Tribes in Fallujah and Abu Ghraib got reports that the Al Qaeda leader was present north of Iraq and they moved in to take him out...

according to CNN International just now...

It looks like it wasn’t really Al Qaeda infighting per se, but more, as I suspected, the sunni tribes who are not too keen on the islamic califate under Al Qaeda leadership.

I am really starting to like those Sunni Tribes!

This is what I like to see. The Iraqis doing it themselves and standing up for themselves instead of the Americans.

al-Masri is also the leader of the Shura Council which is an umbrella group that includes Sunni insurgent groups as well as Islamist groups. So in that case this could be seen as “infighting”.
