If the Republican primary voters choose Giuliani, I will vote for him, as his presumptive opponent is Hillary.
I’m unaffiliated, so I will not be one of those voters. But I would vote for a trained chimpanzee if it meant keeping Hillary out of the White House.
And for what it’s worth, I do not believe Giuliani is a socialist. Say what you will about the guy’s position on social issues, but he has a record of success as NY Mayor that is pretty darned impressive.
Me too.
I quite agree. I think Rudy was pressed up against the rightward wall as hard he could be in NYC. Any further and he wouldn't have gotten re-elected, and we'd have had somebody much, much further to the left instead. I expect he'll move somewhat further to the right as a national candidate because he'll have the space to do so -- the rightward wall of the national room is much further right than the rightward wall of the NYC room. Though I know it won't be as far right as my views are, I really don't want him to go any further, since as you note, the only viable alternative is likely to be Hillary.
At least someone who gets it around here.
I will be doing the same.
There's only one reason this thread exists: as an "anti-Giulianni" thread.
Ultimately - what really will count when it's time to vote is: in whose hands can you put America's security for the next four or eight years.
Regardless of Rudy's "social positions", I will feel a lot more comfortable if that security is in Giulianni's hands, than if in Hillary Clinton's or B. Hussein Obama's.
That's why I will support the Republican candidate, and why I will vote for Rudy, if he is indeed the Republican candidate.
The future counts too much, to do otherwise.

I agree. I'd rather be raped than murdered.

I will vote for the party’s nominee even if it is Rudy, because I don’t want Hillary. Any other vote would be a waste, and move her closer to the White House. There seems to be much that has been mis-stated about Rudy, with pro-choice being one, and socialist being another. His successes in NY are indeed impressive.
