With all due respect banning 85 long time posters is an exercise in absolute idiocy.
Rudy Ghouliani completely sucks things that I'm not even going to take the time to mention, but this kind of purge (make no mistake it is one) is the kind of thing that takes salon.com from being a big house of democrats to some dinky little podunk nowhere-ville website in the internet.
Everyone kiss and make up now that the bad people are gone? This is like something out of Nazi Germany or fascist Italy .... this is a damned nightmare of PR for FR. How long until this gets chucked down the memory hole?
How many of these people got banned just because they pi$$ed off a moderator? Someone frakking explain this crap... otherwise ...
If this be an opus ... make the most of it !!!
Grow up.
You sound like Al Sharpton on one of his ignorant tirades.
Have you read the thread? Not all the posters who got it were long time posters. Some asked for it in request, some in defiant belligerent behavior, some were retreads, some were newb trolls.
There were many that got it that got it for the reasons they would have got it on any other thread. It just so happened that it was here.
With all due respect, 85 is too high a number. More like 45.
Also, they weren't all long time posters.
And you do not know who was banned and whois suspended, do you?
Is Jim to blame for those who volunteered to leave, or those who went ballistic on purpose in order to be banned?
If this is an opus, I've seen better. If not, I'll see you tomorrow. 8^)
No more opus allowed.
You have to stay here.
Just calm down and everything will be fine in a day or two.
