If there was a successful attempt to pass a Federal law banning all abortions (right down to the morning after pill) secession might just be what we get. I trust you did not use that phrase lightly and are prepared for its consequences.
Personally I believe that laws will change when people's hearts change, not the other way round.
Well, well, well. I've being saying for some time that the pro-aborts, and those who cover for them by pushing off the unalienable right to life as a "states' rights issue" are the equivilant of modern-day confederates.
Personally, I think people who think it's okay to dismember and destroy a helpless little child should just do us all a favor and secede from the human race.
I respectfully disagree.
Remember, the people did not legalize abortion, and it is therefore not their hearts that must change.
In comparison to slavery, abortion will be much simpler to "un-legalize," since it exists only by virtue of judicial lunacy rather than actual law. Involving the states in this question is both unnecessary and unconstitutional.
We are united states for the purposes outlined in the Preamble. What we need is an executive who understands that fact, the way Lincoln understood it.
Is that how the Margaret Sangerites made it possible to off 50 million American babies? They won hearts? I don't think so.
