The problem as I see it is that supporting Rudy does not make one pro-abortion, pro-gay rights, pro-gun control any more than supporting the President makes one pro-CFR, pro-illegal immigration and pro-Medicare drugs plan.

If you support him, knowing his positions on those issues, then you are supporting those issues. Those are major issues. I simply can't fathom why someone who holds the opposing positions on those issues would support him.

As I said in another reply, you seem to think that the issues on which you oppose Rudy are "major" while those on which I oppose Bush are less so.

Don't agree. Sorry.

I absolutely respect your decision NOT to hold your nose and vote for Rudy, as long as you also accept my decision to vote third party in '00 and '04.

EASY.
Rudy’s the front-runner.
If Rudy gets the nomination he’ll be up against Hillary Clinton.
Many of us would rather support someone we disagree with on some (or even most) major issues than someone with whom we disagree on EVERY SINGLE ISSUE.
