The best was Hastert's "majority of the majority" rule! If we could count on the "R's" to maintain that discipline (which they never had in the Senate) I might disagree with you.
I'd say in the Senate there is more reason to support pro-gun candidates, regardless of party. In the house I would be tempted to try to get R's in there even if we need a bunch who are wobbly or worse on gun rights.

So what, he is a pandering liberal who can get away with ANYTHING!
To: Jack Black
Agreed! I am a Republican and I voted; but I was very discouraged by the Republican leadership. In fact, I predicted this would happen 6 months before the election. What makes matters worse, I do not see any indication that the Republican leadership is doing anything differently! If things don;'t start changing quickly, we are going to see the clintoons back in charge......

I'd bet a couple of donuts that the guy didn't know the gun was in the bag.... That was my first thought.

"Webb strikes me as kinda wacky."
No kinda about it. He's unbalanced.
To: Michamilton
Webb has always been pretty openly pro-gun/pro-2nd amendment, hasn't he?That and the fact that he is a former Marine are his only redeeming qualities.

If it was a Republican, you would hear ENDLESS whining by the leftards about special treatment.

..So the bullets have serial numbers now? They've been talking about micro engraving or chemically tracing ammunition in Kalifornia for a few years now.

This shows a gross level of irresponsibility on the part of Sen. Webb. While I agree that the draconian gun control laws passed by Democrats in D.C. are an abomination, they are nonetheless, the law. Allowing someone who is not licensed to possess your loaded firearm is both careless and likely felonious. I'm sure that the Washington Post will demonstrably call for full prosecution for both Sen. Webb and his unwitting subordinate. Elections do have consequences and so do the laws.

THAT election had to be stolen. The Washington Post engaged in relentless smear campaigns against George Allen, Webb's Senatorial opponent and a potential excellent Republican Presidential candidate.
The Post covered up the very bizarre Webb's record. And sanity.
