Bush impeachment on the table, Hagel says

WASHINGTON — Some lawmakers who complain that President Bush is flouting Congress and the public with his Iraq policies are considering impeachment an option, a Republican senator said Sunday.

Sen. Chuck Hagel of Nebraska, a member of the Foreign Relations Committee and a frequent critic of the war, stopped short of calling for Bush's impeachment.

But he made clear that some lawmakers viewed that as an option should Bush choose to push ahead despite public sentiment against the war.

"Any president who says 'I don't care' or 'I will not respond to what the people of this country are saying about Iraq or anything else' or 'I don't care what the Congress does, I am going to proceed' — if a president really believes that, then there are … ways to deal with that," Hagel said on ABC's "This Week."

The White House had no immediate reaction to Hagel's comments.

Hagel, who is considering a presidential run, said he was bothered by Bush's apparent disregard of congressional sentiment on Iraq, such as his decision to send additional troops.

The senator said that lawmakers now were ready to stand up to the president when necessary.

Hagel has preached "defeat" as a solution to Iraq. Now he faces a problem--defeat is becoming less and less likely.

One can only wonder whether Senator Hagel has some kind of personal problem impelling him to practice political treachery as a way of life.

I say bring on impeachment. It is one sure-fire way to ensure that the Democrat party accomplishes absolutely nothing else in the next 2 years, and also helps to show the American people, especially those who stayed home in 2006, that the adults need to be put back in charge in Congress.

"Any president who says 'I don't care' or 'I will not respond to what the people of this country are saying about Iraq...."

Hey Chuckie, if what you say is true and the entire country is against the war then it should be quite easy for congress to pass a defunding bill. Problem (for you and your Leftist cohorts) is that it's not even close to being true.

Hagel is Pelosi's best friend. He can say things that they'd never be able to get away with, and he graces their agenda with the label "bipartisan" just by endorsing it.

Oops.....correction: You don't have the balls to have one of your House friends to file articles of impeachment.

"One can only wonder whether Senator Hagel has some kind of personal problem impelling him to practice political treachery as a way of life."

And one can only wonder that the voters of Nebraska are as brain-dead as the voters in MA. Usually, the mental illness of liberalism is contained on the east and west coasts, but there are colonies in NE, MN, and Iowa in the mid-west, unfortunately.

Fellow traitors in DC respond to Hagel's most recent act of stabbing our president in the back:

Pelosi responds to Hagel's impeachment comments:

Pelosi wants to thank all of the suicidal pseudo conservatives for giving the power she now has for their support in the 2006 elections.

Forget the RINO label, I say traitor not just to his party but the United States of America.

Hussein was convicted and swung till he stopped breathing yet Pres. Bush deceived the American people?

Does not compute.

Hagel's voting record is fairly conservative.

In that respect, he's not a full Democrat.

But I believe that he's definitely full of himself and thinks he's a much bigger player than he actually is.

Hagel's comments may fly in Washington, but back home in Nebraska - he's setting himself up for a fight when re-election time comes around.

I replied to Senator Hagel:

Contact him at this link.

Dear Senator Hagel,

As a Major I am deeply offended that you would even suggest the use of Impeachment when referring to President Bush as relates to this war on Terror which includes more than acts of 9-11. It DOES include Iraq and to a greater degree those interested parties, like Iran and Syria, who are desperately trying to see the US, and the world, lose it.

The last election was NOT about the war. It was centered on corruption and as such the GOP lost a lot of seats because of their unwillingness to deal with it. They handed the democrats a victory. If you see this victory as some kind of ground swell against the war you are wrong.

We are an All-Volunteer force, there is no draft and people are still signing up every day. If what you claim were even remotely true this would not be the case.

I ask you to re-consider your choice of words, sir. Currently what you are espousing is a comfort to the democrats and only emboldens those who see that the wedge you are helping to drive could well be their greatest source of victory.

Sincerely,

This guy holds pressers to say he is "still thinking" of running for prez when he couldn't even get 2% of the vote.
Total loser.

Hagel, who is considering a presidential run

It better be on the democrat ticket because he zero chance of winning as a Republican.
