Oregon National Guard is looking for a missing plane in Central Oregon. Believed 2 persons on board.
Don't know any more info at this time. Just caught a tidbit of breaking news on the late night news; nothing posted on the web yet.
Please update as news comes in.
Oh, and if you want to slam me for posting no useful info, just like the media do, in an effort to be "first" with the news.... go for it.

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "CARLSBAD The search for a California pilot and his experimental plane feared missing in the Guadalupe Mountains area south of here brought a flurry of activity to the Cavern City Air Terminal Monday.
The man, whose identity is being withheld by authorities, left southern California on Wednesday, bound for the coast of Virginia, said Civil Air Patrol spokesman Larry Zentner, who traveled from Albuquerque to Carlsbad to take part in the search.
When the pilot did not check in at his destination on Thursday, his family called California authorities. The man was the sole occupant of the single-seat plane."
I lift them up to God in prayer - may they be protected by His mighty Hand, and may their families be given hope...

missing in Central Oregon

BEND, Ore. (AP) An airplane went down in Central Oregon late Monday, officials said.
The Oregon Army National Guard launched a helicopter to assist the Klamath County Sheriff's Office in the search for the plane, which disappeared near Crescent Lake Airport, southwest of Sunriver, said Capt. Mike Braibish, a guard spokesman.
Braibish could not describe the type of plane, but said search officials think there were two people aboard.
The guard helicopter is equipped with technology that may help locate the aircraft despite the darkness.
It is speculated their descent through timber slowed the ground impact enough to allow them to survive. A photo shows the plane upside down among some trees with one wing sheared off.
The company I worked for in the '90s lost a jet in the mountains back around '95 or so, loaded with many of our co-workers and customers. It was six years before the wreckage was found. It was a painful time in our history, and ultimately contributed to the end of the company in it's 97th year - though our franchise lives on and we who remain are successful with the new owner group.

Well, if you have to go down, there are worse places than the Odell Lake area, I suppose.
